A few friends and aye hiked a bit up Mt. Wheeler, then switched off onto the Osceola Ditch! The trail was an old irrigation ditch to supply the hydraulic mining. Wood remnants mark the trail, more or less. However there are no real trail markings: This is not a beaten path! more

I visited the great basin this last September 2007 and found myself in a very "primative land". It felt like nothing had touched it and nothing was about to touch it.
