Hello, Just a quick review here for families planning a trip to the North Cascades. This is a beautiful park, but if you have young children, I recommend concentrating your visit elsewhere. Just back to UK after US holiday where this location was next on the list after a Seattle city-centre corporate hotel stay. Something of a contrast!! Our tent-cabin was a wooden "shed" with mesh on the window openings (no glass) and a tarpaulin roof. No electricity, just a parafin lamp; all other facilities in the ranchhouse. We missed the boat to the resort but the friendly staff picked us up from the dock. The cabin is rustic and awesome and you have to bring your own food. Each cabin is floating on the lake and has a complete kitchen with modern appliances. The bathroom is convenient, the beds are rustic, and the stove is old-fashioned! it... more
