Dunalastair Hotel

Aug 16, 2008

We went back to Dunalastair in July of this year not having been there for a few years. The place hasn't changed much we are glad to say. The village of Rannoch is in a great part of Scotland. We left Scotland over 10 years ago, and this is exactly what we look forward to coming back to. We loved... more

The Green Park Hotel

Aug 15, 2008

I cant believe this Hotel had a 2 star rating at one time , I have stayed in worse 4 start hotels. Its a quiet ,relaxed possibly subdued atmosphere but totally at ease place to stay. The hotel appears to have been newly refurbished to a very high standard and the bathroom in our room was spotless. No draught beers... more

Dalgreine Guest House

Aug 15, 2008

Well we were back once again at Dalgreine for a few days this week and surely the true test of the of what it takes to be the best Guest House in Scotland, is consistency of delivery of service. Without question the owners, Lena and Colin Robertson, have achieved that . They are truly among the best hosts in the... more

Aug 14, 2008

We stayed at the Scotlands Hotel in July 2008 for 2 nights. Had a lovely break with a room in the Bank House which was excellent. Food was good but service slow. The staff were friendly but some had difficulty understanding the Scottish language. Leisure facilities good but no entertainment which was not a disaster as other hotels and bars... more

Macdonald Loch Rannoch Hotel & Resort

Aug 13, 2008

Returned from a 1 night stay and was looking forward to spending it away here. Arrived at 4pm and given room 105. View of loch which was lovely. Room was spacious, double bed, en-suite bathroom. Well equipped with tea/coffee and mineral/sparkling water. Booked dinner at 8pm, restaurant staff were very friendly and polite. Service was efficient and the food was... more

My wife and I stayed here for one night while travelling through Scotland. The location just outside the town of Dunkeld on the River Tay cannot be beaten. If you are after a typical Scottish setting, then we would recommend this place. The hotel is a converted country house, but with a modern wing incorporated, in very large gardens that... more

Tigh Na Leigh Guest House

Aug 13, 2008

We stayed at Tigh Na Leigh for our first wedding anniversary and it was absolutely superb! Bettina and Chris were very welcoming hosts, very knowledgeable about the local area and extremely helpful. The house itself is very tastefully decorated; we stayed in the four poster room which was absolutely beautiful and of an exceptional standard, boasting a very relaxing spa... more

Me and my boyfriend got a cheap dinner, b&b rate and decided to head away for 2 nights to spend some time together before university started back up. Staff were fairly friendly but nothing to shout out about. Really feel as if the hotel could do with an updating, the restaurant is lovely, clean and modern but I don't feel... more

Grampian Hotel

Aug 12, 2008

We stayed in this hotel for an overnight stay away from "the kids!" The room was spotless and very comfortable-the best hotel bed i've slept in for a long while. The staff couldn't have been more helpful. We went out to eat so cant comment on the food at dinner, but it smelt delicious and breakfast in the morning was... more

We previously stayed at this hotel in June of this year and were very disappointed. See our review " Scotland's Worst Hotel." On reading our last post we were contacted by Scotland's manager Marc Gardner who apologised unreservedly for the poor service, badly maintained room and dreadful food. He confirmed that all points raised by us were correct and then... more

An Lochan Tormaukin Inn

Aug 12, 2008

I was taken to Tormaukin for a surprise birthday treat, and what a treat it was. From the second we arrived the staff went out of their way to make our stay special. Our Room was loveley and big with views out over the hills. The only thing which could do with a little updating is the bathroom as it... more

We were at this restaurant on the 8th August & had a really lovely night we were taken there by friends who have become regulars there and I can see why. The food is outstanding, the service perfect and excellent value. This restaurant definately deserves a Michellin Star. We will definately be back, even if our friend are moving away. more

Ramada Perth

Aug 11, 2008

I stayed at this hotel on a recent business trip to Perth and was dissapointed. The room was clean and a good size but too warm. Unfortunately my room was adjacent to the entrance and there were people and cars coming/leaving all night. It was noisy enough without opening the window for some much needed air. The biggest dissapointment however... more

Really good value. Food plain but tasty and good portions. Liked 6 course last night and the piper Rooms were small but fine;do like a bath-super. Hotel small but cosy. Staff helpful. Location was excellent for walks. Could drive to Menzies Castle,Kenmore, Pitlochery but latter expensive-£8 for macaroni cheese. Blair Castle Caravan Park

Aug 11, 2008

Park is easy to find off A9 road. Staff on site are mostly helpful and friendly. Major concern we had was with the toilet facilities. Our part of the site had only two shower cubilces for a very large number of tents. The site is kept clean by staff even in light of 'inconsiderates' who leave their filth behind for... more

Murraypark Hotel

Aug 10, 2008

We stayed at the Murraypark Hotel for one night as they had a special offer on their website. The Hydro is a great hotel but can house over 500 people there at any one time whereas the Murraypark can cater for 65 at any one time therefore makes for a smaller cosier atmosphere. We would without a doubt stay at... more
