I took the tram up from Plaza de Espanya in Barcelona directly from the airport minus my backpack which did not follow me, owing to Air Canada's tight connexion at Frankfurt. I found this place one of the most wonderful places on earth it is so peaceful and relaxing the views are breath taking i have never been to a place more breath taking so ive been back 5 times more

This was one of the highlights of the Barcelona visit and well worth climbing on a bus tour for the day. Montserrat or 'The Serrated Mountain' is home to Santa Maria, one of the most famous black madonnas in the world and to be found up a dramatic thin stairway above the Basilica of the Benedictine monks who live here.... more
