Bay Islands Beach Resort

BIBR is playing it fast and loose with the term "all-inclusive." I think what they really meant was you pay the all inclusive price before your trip, and then pay for EVERYTHING else seperately but you can include it all on your room bill at the end. Someone should inform them of the real definition of the term in the... more

Island Pearl

Oct 7, 2008

We were fortunate enough to spend our honeymoon in Roatan Honduras at the Island Pearl and not only was it more beautiful than anything I've ever experience but it was so peaceful and relaxing as well. Never before have I had such curtious service. The owners of the resort, Louis and Jamie, sent a driver to pick us up from... more

Our family of eight arrived on Roatan via the Carnival Valor and booked Bodden Tours prior for a private tour of the island. We were not disappointed. We had Lionel as our guide and he was great with a really good personality. The price was only $25 a person and we went where ever we wanted to go and stayed... more

My boyfriend and I just came back from 8 days at marble hill farm. Eco lodging on 26 acres of unspoiled lush property. Because of the location, north East end of Roatan, this place is unlikely to be crowed during your visit. It worked out in our favor as the staff was very friendly and eager to please us. the... more

Located right on the beach, you cannot go wrong here. Good service. The food is outstanding and the price is very right. The portions are generous. And, their presentation is well done. Beach front seating on the deck (weather permitting) creates a nice ambiance. This place is a must while in West End. It may be a little hard to... more

A friend and I stayed in West End for 1 week (end of Sep/beginning of Oct 2008) and decided to try the place out. Their location is ideal, always seemed to have people and great appearance...too bad the same cannot be said for their food. Filet mignon was cooked as ordered but almost uncutable...very tough piece of meat. Their seafood... more

Las Rocas Resort & Dive Center

Oct 4, 2008

The service at the office was exceptional; housecleaning was thorough; food was distinctive and excellent; dive center staff could not have been more friendly, courteous or helpful; English language skills of the staff was a bonus; teenagers with us had a wonderful time, with new adventures. more

Cocolobo

Oct 2, 2008

I stayed at Cocolobo for a week in the beginning of September. From the moment my friend and I got out of the taxi, Rory was an awesome and accommodating host. He was invaluable during our stay as a guide to the local activities--more importantly, he's an awesome person with whom to kick back and enjoy a Port Royal by... more

We stayed at West Bay Lodge from 9/20-9/27. It was a phenomenal experience and a lesson in relaxation. Celeste and Milos are great hosts. Along with their staff, (Monica in particular) they run a wonderful lodge and create a fabulous home away from home atmosphere. The considerations for your comfort are non-stop: Need a cooler? They'll loan you one to... more

To begin, I understand that in Honduras things often do not work as they do in other, more developed countries. That said. I really cannot recommend this hotel. It's not that the room is so bad (in fact, on the surface it is quite lovely and when we entered the room I was delighted) it is that other hotels in... more

Would not stay here again, you could bake a cake in the reception area. Power went off at least 8-9 times during our stay. The power outage was usually at 03:00am - 04:00am. Staff was kind to the Italian guests. If you are any other nationality, you are definately overlooked. Airport transportation was not at the airport to pick us... more

We just returned from a 1 week stay and are already planning a return trip! First, the dive operation was very smooth and low pressure with a wonderful dive master, Marvin, and Boat Captain, Kenlee. My husband and I, along with another couple we travelled with, all felt that Marvin & Kenlee went above and beyond on all our dives.... more

Tyll's has a fun, laid-back yet professional, safety-oriented vibe that makes you feel like family by day 2. My experience was nothing short of fantastic and my instructor was top notch. Uwe and Dorte take care of you like nobody's business and their smaller size means very personal instruction.. I would recommend this shop to anyone looking to explore Roatan's... more

Cool Beans Coffee House

Sep 23, 2008

I recently spent two months on the island of Roatan and I fell in love with the coffee shop in west bay. The coffee is local but all the food and dairy are imported from the US, so I felt safe eating and drinking everything. The couple who run the place are great, very friendly and fun. Its a great... more

We just returned from an unexpected "extended" stay in Roatan due to Hurricane Ike and Continental Airlines. After being stranded by Continental, having already spent a week on Roatan in an unairconditioned and poorly-ventilated room during hot! season, and having an ill traveler, we were desperately looking for a place we could stay for at least another week. We were... more
