Was there in April-May this year. Its a welly great hotel. The breakfast is fit for a king and queen. However there are some odd smells in the corridors I think that is due to people cooking food in their rooms. I stayed in Sofitel/royal makkah in June 2007, well it is the best hotel/location I have stayed so far from my previous visits/umah/hajj to Makkah. Love the location - very near to HARAM and shopping centres. The room is spacious..... looking forward to stay there again...but sad to know now in June 2008, I just recently go to Makkah for... more

This hotel is really good mashaAllaah, excellent room service, laundry and housekeeping...etc. Very close to the Haraam, also has a shopping mall downstairs, not that the shops are anything special, same shops as in the UK, however it has great restaurants on 3rd floor. The only downside to the hotel is the elevators, you have to go to floor 11... more
