The Gloria has seen better days. The lobby was noisy, dirty and crowded with backpackers and their backpacks. Rooms are clean but tiny. The linens have seen better days. A real disappointment especially after several days on the road with an (upscale) birding group. I am in La Paz often and usually choose to stay elsewhere. more

I've stayed at the Hotel Europa several times over the past three years. It is expensive, by Bolivian standards, but has never failed to deliver. The service is attentive, perhaps because the place never seems to be crowded. The food in the coffee shop is tasty and geared towards foreign tastes. Biggest drawback: No WIFI in the rooms. more
