The front desk told us it was a 4 star hotel. In their dreams! It was no better than 2 star. We have stayed in better backpack hostels! There was no soap nor toilet tissue in the bathroom. No tea/coffee facilities in the room.The white sheets were grey and have seen betters days (years ago), the blankets did not instill... more

We were on a 10 night holiday in egypt and luxor was our last stop after cairo and sharm el sheik. We'd been reccommended the Sheraton Luxor by 2 seperate parties who said it was "amazing". its definately not amazing and having stayed at the Sofitel El Gezirah in Cairo and the Hyatt Regency in Sharm, both out of this... more

:Luxor is a very busy place, Centre is verty dirty and market unspeakably so. Touts are everywhere and a real pest. It is impossible to go shopping without being pestered except in the government run craft centre near Winter Palace. Restaurants are not very good, the best we found was El Hussein in Karnak village with menus from about £E58.... more
