I was extremely pleased with my stay here. The hotel is centrally located, clean, and the staff was superb. The manager and ladies working the front desk were friendly and helpful. The included breakfast was okay-simple. My room was large with a comfy king size bed. Windows on the side offered views of the lake. Free internet! more

We stayed here for two nights, we booked a double room but recieved a Twin. We arrived at gone 9.30pm with no problem at all, we were showed to our room and asked when we wanted breakfast. Breakfast was made up of Bread, Jam and Coffee. Beware the house is very cold, we found a gas heater in our room,... more

It is great ... more like a W than a Holiday Inn. A little cumbersome to get into - you park in a mall parking garage then take an elevator up, but the views and rooms are just great... more

We spent 3 nights here in Puerto Montt at either end of a Lake District trip. This appears to be the newest and best hotel in town. The rooms are large and well-appointed and the breakfast bar is superb. Some disadvantages : the hotel is attached to a mall with underground parking that is crowded and chaotic, esp. on weekends!... more

My wife and I were in Puerto Montt on business and had a few days to explore (and be pampered a little). We chose Alerce because it seemed to offer the opportunity to experience a wild, natural setting -- and to be honest, it looked of a very high quality. We were nogt disappointed. It is a very rough 2-3... more

Don Luis Gran Hotel

We just came back from 3 nights at Don Luis. The staff was friendly and helpful, the breakfast was nothing to write home about, but still stocked with some fruit, juice, rolls, pastry, cereal, yoghurt, cold cuts and scrambled eggs (watery, as many hotel eggs are). There is free parking in a protected lot if you have a rental car,... more

We didnt expect to spend the night in Puerto Montt, so had not done much research into accommodation options. Using the Footprint Guide to Chile (not recommended either), we chose this hotel. Location is good and the reception seemed nice (if somewhat corportate - the "hotel is the upper few stories of an office building), but the room was pretty... more

Ulaa is a collection of hand-built cabins and organic gardens hidden in Chilean Patagonia. Our guide, Diego, was extremely helpful and all staff were very friendly and welcoming. It is not a traditional 'spa' but offers the same relaxing atmosphere. Highlight was a horseback ride into the Las Horquetas Valley and an overnight stay at a small Chilean farm -... more

We stumbled across this charming little B&B while spending a night in Puerto Montt. The owner, Mario, was very welcoming and extremely helpful. He is also very artistic, and you will see it in the way that he has cleverly decorated his place with old train tracks, railroad ties, history books, etc. Mario will go out of his way to... more

We only stayed one night in Puerto Montt but the Holiday Inn Express exceeded our expectations. The hotel is located over a shopping mall on the waterfront right in the centre of the city. I don't think there would be a better location in Puerto Montt. We checked in a bit early (midday) but that was no trouble. The room... more

We were greeted by a very helpful owner who collected us from the bus station. However, after this our stay was most unpleasant. The cleanliness of our room and bathroom were awful, with visible signs of prior users and their remains! The sheets had clearly not been changed. The room smelt of damp and the facilities were generally in need... more

As the previous reviewer mentioned, this is a tired looking hotel (in a less than scintillating city) which does not warrant its 4 star rating. The hotel is situated on a cross-roads and the traffic noise in our 7th floor room was constant and loud until the early hours and then we were kept awake by the virtual non-stop barking... more

This is indeed more than one expects of a Holiday Inn Express. Very comfortable rooms, great view of the bay, excellent check-in and check-out experience, nice breakfast buffet in the gorgeous 11th floor lounge, great options for a meal when you arrive at 4:30 AM from a long trip from Chiloe. They have pre-prepared meals which they can heat in... more

Ulaa is not just another destination. It is an experience in life. My husband and I recently returned from a three night stay in Ulaa. It truly was like returning to another world...a world with unlocked doors, quiet, beauty, pure air and water. We flew from Buenos Aires to Bariloche. We stayed overnight in Bariloche. The next morning, we rode... more

I´d highly recommend this hotel. Its more than it claims to be. The rooms are truly comfortable, modern, clean and far more luxurious than any of the other Chilean hotels we have stayed in. The staff are really helpful. They were great in assisting us fax details through to local tour agents etc. Always smiling, no problem too big. Our... more

First, I like US Holiday Inn Express hotels. They are not plush, but always clean and a good value. This was so much more, however. We stayed there in late February 2007. It is a relatively new large hotel setting directly on the bay in a very convenient location. The rooms are very nice with an incredible view from every... more

While it still maybe the best bet in town, the place is in need of maintenance. The carpets in the room need to be cleaned or replaced as well as the carpets in the halls.
