The Parai View is a nice hotel set on a hill with breath-taking scenery to the mountains Merapi and Singgalang and the valleys between. The scenery and the quiet and cool environment are the best sides of the hotel. In addition, service at both the front desk, bell station and the hotel's own restaurant was warm and professional. We missed... more

The Novotel continues to be the only large hotel in Bukittinggi. However, it continues to be a good value with nice rooms, good service and excellent location. We were pleasantly surprised when we found that they had added wireless internet to their facility which helped a lot since we were on business and had lots of activity via email and... more

We've visited Bukittinggi twice, while living in Indonesia as an expatriate. A five-star resort it isn't, but it does offer a modicum of comfort and service. Our rooms, on both instances, were large, simple, green [walls], but clean and we had a wonderful view of the volcano. We had dinner at the hotel the night of our arrival and ordered... more

I knew from the beginning that in Bukittingi, the standard of accomodation might be less than we were accustomed to. O.K. We arrived at our hotel and... more
