If you are interested in staying at a great little hostel while in La Fortuna, Gringo Pete's is the place. There is the original Gringo Pete's Hostel in town and 3 blocks away is the newly constructed Gringo Pete's Too. I wouldn't go back to this hotel. Although it was good value at $50 a night and from what I saw in La Fortuna you won't get anything better. I should have stayed in one of the lodges further out of town, going past them on the bus they looked lovely, but if you don't have transport they leave you... more

This is a beautiful, quiet hotel run by a very nice family who endeavors to make you feel at home. The hotel itself looks very new and is well maintained.
