Our guide walked us back in time taking us through both the story and rooms of this wonderful old estate. We could almost see the thirty slaves that supported the home and heard stories about the additional 300 slaves working the sugar fields 10 miles to the south. Great place to visit for a view of the past. more

We just spent 10 long days in the Best Western in New Iberia with a 10 under baseball team that played a world series tournament in Abbeville, LA. Unfortunately this was our best option within a 30 mile radius of the ball field and it was nothing more than a truck stop. The front desk people were less than accommodating... more

My wife & I stayed at the Comfort Suites (room #205) for 2 nights while in New Iberia for a wedding. We paid approximately $98/night (AAA rate). Location: Roughly 20 miles south of I-10 at the intersection of highways 90 & 14. Locally, hotel is about 6 miles from Avery Island & Tabasco and approximately 1-2 miles from the heart... more

My children and I were visiting Avery Island for a last minute day trip before school starts. We live about an hour and a half away. I would not have known about this place had it not been for a reviewer on this website! My husband was traveling from Texas so we decided to meet him there to eat. He... more

We stayed here on the last leg of our Louisiana vacation, not looking for an expensive hotel but a comfortable night's sleep for our family of four. Our older children, ages 19 and 22 were very comfortable in the suite. We have stayed at similar properties before while on the road so we knew what we were reserving when we... more

Ruby Tuesday

Mar 28, 2008

I had hoped that my third trip to Ruby Tuesday in New Iberia, LA would be better than my second. The in-house food was great although the facility was quite dirty (server blamed it on a large group of people leaving the facility unkept). Once again, I tried a take-out order since I live 2 hours away. I again requested... more

I stayed there for a wedding. Most of the hotel occupants were the wedding guests. My room was on the first floor near the front desk. The room was nice, clean, and comfortable. The toilet did run constantly. The free breakfast was fair but it was what was expected. Not much noise from the lobby area. I would definitely stay... more

Duffy's Diner

Mar 10, 2008

March 2008 found me traveling through New Iberia, LA. Although it was after the normal lunch hour I noticed that a parking lot of Duffy's Diner was full - a good sign. Once inside, I was treated to a friendly greeting and seated promptly. Speaking of friendly, the staff and customers treated each other like family. Everyone inside was obviously... more

Rude, unfriendly staff, stood at the counter while hotel clerk was clicking away on the keyboard, dind't even acknowledge me or anyone else, no smiles. Checked into the room, which smelled funny, stunk of mold and ammonia. The AC unit was clearly filthy inside. Shower dripped/ran non stop, beds were terrible, toilet had a chain that was too long and... more

I walked into the Days Inn of New Iberia and inquired about the rates for one night, single person, non-smoking if available. With a straight face they quoted me $85.00 per night plus tax. Walked out of the Days Inn... nuff said. Called the Inn of Iberia, and was quoted $50.00 per night including tax. For the money, I had... more

My wife and I really loved this place. Great location (easy walk to the main street restaurants/pubs), first class breakfast and really nice room. If you're a B&B person this is the place to stay. Plus it was nice to get a local "slant" on things from the owners. This is the place to stay in New Iberia. more

I show up and check in with no problems. I get to my room, but the cable tv is not working, so I call and shortly thereafter someone comes to fix it. It is not fixable at the time, so he gets new keys and switches me to another room. This was fine, except the second room did not get... more

We have recently come back from a week visiting New Orleans and the surrounding area and came upon this fantastic B&B in New Iberia. The hosts were wonderful and couldn't do enough to make our trip more pleasurable, recommending restaurants and places of interest in the surrounding area. The Rooms are set in a beautiful period home full of interesting... more

As far as B&B's go, this place is terribly run. They don't have a clue about class or hospitality. It's just a couple of sheds seemingly decorated from flea markets. Don't beleive the hype about this place. It's a joke. Give me a break!!!! Check out the B&B's near "Shadows on the Teche" in New Iberia for a great experience. more

I did not care for our stay at Le Rosier. The entrance to the Inn was tricky to find. Once we found the entrance, the person who helped us was sitting at a very cluttered outside patio table. She took us inside to check in. Check-in took what I thought was an extended time. The check-in counter also served as... more

We scrambled to get this hotel at the last minute for my daughter's softball tourney in Erath. The staff at the Days Inn were fabulous--very nice and courteous and did everything they could to help us. We stayed in a King suite, smoking room, and it was great. The beds had SEVEN pillows on them--there was no need to bring... more

Le Rosier is a bed and breakfast hotel located on Main Street at one end of historic downtown New Iberia and across from Shadows-on-the-Teche, an historic house museum. At the front is a bungalow surrounded by flower gardens. Inside is the restaurant, which is cozy and spread out among several rooms, and includes a small bar and outdoor patio. Dinner... more

We've stayed in several B & B's and never have we had to settle for a cold muffin and a banana for the breakfast part of the "B". I would encourage staying elsewhere for a comprehensive B & B experience. We "assume" breakfast is a standard part of the B. Live and learn. more

Avoid this grossly overpriced place there are six very small rooms with very small bathrooms in a building behind the old house. Like an old two story motel. Noisiest air conditioner I can remember for a long time. Room had nice linens and wallpaper. Tiny but pretty garden in between house and motel rooms. The room we stayed in had... more
