The hotel was very worn! Definitely not up to other Hampton Inns that we have stayed at. Shower\tub would not drain therefore you were standing in dirty water at the end of your shower. Room in general was showing alot of age and wear and tear on it. Spoke with (MGR) and she said she was sorry it had been... more
This was the first night of our trip and after reading the reviews here I had planned to start off with some good seafood at Huot's. When we found it though, it was closed for the season. The Wormwood Restaurant is right next door so we decided to try it instead. The restaurant is near the water and was very... more
I stayed at this hotel driving from Bar Harbor to Boston. This property amazed me in terms of the value for money. I cite the following: -The rooms are suite-like, with a nice couch in the room and a generally great lay-out. -The rooms were modern and well appointed (noting the bathroom was an unusual square shape with a very... more
What a wonderful meal! My husband and I started out with crab cakes, which were moist and tasty. I had the seared halibut over lobster risotto. It was amazing. The halibut was perfectly cooked and had a nice flavor. The risotto was also wonderful. It had about 8 or 9 large chunks of lobster in it. wow. My husband had... more
Went here on a business trip with husband from a Thursday till Monday afternoon. I loved the room, thought it was well equipped, decorated nicely, clean and it looked recently renovated. You get a nice complimentary breakfast in the morning and can bring it to your room or eat it in the dining area. They allow you to use the... more
I've stayed at the Hampton Inn in Saco on several occasions now and the stay has been consistently excellent. The room is always clean and the hotel itself is the same. More than anything else, though, both my husband and I have been greatly impressed with the friendly, helpful, professional staff at this hotel. They don't assume we know about... more
Room was a little shabby for my high standards. I read on Tripadvisor that it was modern but it really is an older hotel that has been patched up here and there to make it more acceptable. An example would be the bathroom which reminded me of a cruise ship's bathroom with its small size and bare minimal style. The... more
My family (2 adults and 2 children) have stayed here for 3-5 days most summers over the last 5-6 years including this year while visiting family. We always stay in the largest room type ( a two room suite with bedroom and livingroom /light kitchenette / sleeper sofa). While there are still some positives, the facility and our experience has... more
We first were assigned a room on the third floor, but as we got off the elevator we heard dogs barking at each other from rooms across the hall. Before we even opened our room, we went back down to the front desk and asked for a room on another floor. We were immediately given a room on the fourth... more
I give it 4 because it is a regular hangout. It's atmosphere is like a 70's lodge. No frills, but OK pub food and cheap drinks. more
Great place for good quality beer and wine as well as soups and sandwiches. Owned and operated by former mayor. more
Best ice cream around. Made by them. more
Super quick, old-style burger joint. No tables. You buy and lean on a counter or take it out. more
The website for this hotel says that it accepts pets on a limited basis which makes it "pet friendly." That's nice-- I lke pets and I have a pet, a cat. Unfortunately, they do not you that they will place you on a "pet-floor" where the room might contain leftover kibble on the floor and where you will have swollen... more
Surely not an high end resort (we are not all milionnaires), but worth every penny, nice and very clean room, nice and very well taken care pool, has been our favorite july hideway for the last 15 years, and hope (we are not geting younger ) for another 15 years. more
