We were taking the Western Maryland Scenic railroad and all the hotels in Cumberland were either booked or overpriced so we decided to stay in Hancock. The 1828 Trail Inn is a top notch B&B and is a real gem on the C&O Canal. My two sons and I stayed there while biking the trail and were treated royally.
