Very special place!!! My family stayed here when we were in town for a family reunion. It's a big Victorian house, beautiful inside, on a high hill above the harbor, and the view is amazing. We wanted to sit on the porch for hours looking out (lighthouse, tall ships, etc), it was so peaceful, with pretty gardens. The owner is... more
Upon seeing all the new changes at Blackburn's I was frightened that my low key Sunday morning Jazz brunches were over! To my surprise the place has only gotten better! The bloodymaries are perfect and are accompanied by a large cold shrimp, the perfect touch! I'm relieved to report, I only have more reason to get up Sunday morning! more
During our annual vacation to the area we never miss a chance to dine at this place! The food is cheap and elegant more importantly it is the best Thai food I have ever eaten. My family and I have toyed with the idea of flying all the way from Pittsburgh, just to have dinner here! more
When our usual motel in Cape Ann was overbooked, we had to find accommodations on very short notice. I found the website for The Inn at Babson Court full of pictures, history, and reasonable prices. Only by changing the name to “Your Home at Babson Court” could one express the level of attention and genuine interest in our needs that... more
We just had our wedding at the Ocean View Inn and we had a blast. The location is beautiful and the staff is wonderful! Peter, Rick, and Katie helped us have an amazing rehearsal dinner and wedding. Included in the rental price is the help of a wedding coordinator for the day of the wedding. We were lucky that the... more
Our bus tour group from Northern Wisconsin had a delicious meal plus we were entertained by the owner who told us the history & some tales of his beloved Gloucester. The meal was served in a timely manor, the setting was elegant & the experience was wonderful. We will certainly stop there again when we are in the area. more
Wonderfully authentic Portuguese food. It was so nice to spend an evening where the facility and the food transported you to Portugal! We would highly recommend this restaurant. Wish we lived closer!! more
My wife and I have bee staying at the CAMI for several years, it is great if you have pets, they are very tolerant, and you can't beat the view anywhere in the area. Now the nitty gritty. The owner makes no effort to make returning customers fell welcome. He doesn't say hello, or good morning and basically ignores his... more
My husband and I spent our 24th anniversary here. It was our first visit and loved it so much, we booked a week for the upcoming summer. We had a top floor king room, which was quite roomy. Rooms have been updated including flat screen T.V.'s and refrigerators. The bed was incredibly comfortable. Loved the private terrace outside of our... more
you can tell why this is number one in the area ,everything was so good from the front desk staff to the rooms.this was our last stop in 14 days in New England and was by far the best.Lovely views and breakfast ,brilliant cookies on demand in the lounge plus nice coffe.free internet and printing .The only downside we stayed... more
My husband and I came across this pub during the block party in October 2008. Don't let the casual atmosphere fool you. The food is top notch, including the desserts, and affordable. The owner circulated around the bar and dining areas, greeting and chatting with customers. We felt like we were guests in his home. Waitstaff and hostesses are pleasant,... more
Charming restaurant in downtown Gloucester Ma. The atmosphere on a cool autumn evening was cosy, in this small storefront restaurant right on main street. The food was outstanding and the prices reasonable. We both tried the specials, seafood prepared in imaginative ways, served with fresh vegetables. more
We had a wonderful time at the Vista. Actually we had only planned to spend one night in Gloucester and then head on to Acadia. But we liked it so much we stayed another night. We picked the Vista from our navi and when actually seeing it hoped for them to have any rooms available. Since it being past 6pm,... more
great food, great service and cheap prices my new favorite place more
I saw the Atlanis on a Tripadvisor review. When we arrived, i was pleased to see the quality of the Motel was in line with the reviews (if you are from the Central US and have preconceptions of Motels, Motels are actually nice places in the Upper North East). The gentleman that checked us in was friendly. They had menus... more
I called this inn today because I plan to attend a wedding in a couple of weeks in Gloucester. When I told the owner that my two married sisters might also want rooms, I got the opposite reaction than I had expected: she said that she was not sure if she would accept my reservation and insisted that I should... more
Elliott’s was recommended to my husband and our friends by a Gloucester local we had met while exploring Gloucester last weekend. Although we had considered eating somewhere else based upon other electronic reviews, we were not disappointed. We had a great evening of dining and entertainment and it turned out to be one of the most enjoyable nights any of... more
I went to Jalapeno's for the first and last time on Saturday, September 13, 2008. I was quoted a 45 minute wait. After waiting for an hour and watching a table sit empty with dirty dishes, I asked to speak with the manager. He was unresponsive, and the hostess still had no idea when a table would be ready. She... more
Good, but ............ Clam chowder was excellent. However, the restaurant is really just a burger and beer joint. While the food was good, it was expensive for what we got. Of all of the places we ate on a 5 day tour of the area, I would rate this place as last on the list. Not that it was bad... more
