Comfort Inn Great Barrington

Nice staff. Area is tucked back off road. Indoor pool, Jacuzzi, weight room with free weights but they don’t open weight room until after 8 am, which is lame! Excellent breakfast with eggs, cereal, treats, fruit, very good coffee, waffle. Construction is going on now. Our room 323 has a very nice shower and tub but if you had physical... more

Barrington brewery –OMG, best beer ever!!!!! Black bear stout, a light draft beer, truly excellent. Got a Pita bread veggie wrap with cole slaw, beer brea and an order of portobella mushroom ravioli. Everything was really, really good and (oh that excellent tomato sauce)! So, so, good! Sells t-shirts, too. Great service. Wish we had this near us! more

Route 7 Grill

Always festive, R7G has the best margaritas, malbecs, and barbecue. A place for locavores, R7G even makes vegetarians sated--the cuke tomato salads, beets, squash, mustard greens and sweet potato fries are fantastic. In the warmer months, eating on the deck is bucolic and tranquilo. The service, starting w/your host, Lester is always friendly and accommodating. more

There is lots of choice in the Berkshires but this is the best! The salads are special (lots of local produce and great dressings). The main courses are superb, I especially like the barbecue and the steak offerings. My husband prefers fish and rates those choices highly. The sides are so great, it is hard to decide which ones to... more

I spend a great deal of time in Great Barrington for family holidays and am often in the position of needing to find a place to lay my head. In these situations the Windflower is always the first place I call. The large sitting room is always a welcome comfort and the owners could not be more accommodating. Breakfast is... more

We had a wonderful time at the Windflower. We enjoyed the company of other guests sitting around the fire in the common sitting area. The Innkeepers could not have been friendlier, and their cottage cheese pancakes at breakfast and ginger cookies (served in the afternoon with tea) were outstanding! We also loved our room, which was clean and spacious with... more

We live in the area and have lunch at cafe adam at least once a week. the place is so comfortable and cotemporary - from the swiss air cutlery to the black linens (great idea, no more lint). Although everything is terrific - the burgers are HUGE and amazing and adam's house smoked salmon can't be beat, even at zabars... more

Super great place to stay in the heart of Great Barrington. Close to town and shopping and pubs, we stayed 3-nights and loved every minute. Our 2nd floor room was huge and access to the porch to relax was especially nice. Lovingly restored and marvelously decorated by the inn keeper, Marja (mar-eee-ah), the Inn is a step back into romantic... more

Thornewood Inn

Where to begin? From the moment my husband and I stepped foot into The Thornewood Inn, we should have turned around and left. We arrived and had to hunt for someone to check us in. Our room was on the second floor where half the overhead hallway lights were out. Upon opening our door, we were shocked at the size... more

Windflower Inn

Expected more. The inn itself was physically charming however the rooms were dirty and dusty. There was dust on the light bulbs, at the window sills and dustballs that appeared from underneath furniture. The room smelled musty and I had to immediately open all of the windows. Additionally, there was an incredible smell of mold when you first enter the... more

Stayed here for one night, after a night in North Adams at the Holiday Inn. We felt like we had checked into a Four Seasons in comparison. The Holiday Inn Express (GB) was very clean and up-to-date with textiles and hard surfaces. Remember, it's a budget chain hotel: it is what it is. But, the North Adams HI was unacceptable.... more

First time to this area. The website was very misleading. Breakfast was enjoyable. The interior and exterior was obviously rundown. Common services; bar service, ice, coffee, fireplace etc. were poor or non existing. Access to internet and centrally located. We will not return. more

We only had 24 hours in the Berkshires, during Columbus Day weekend. The foliage was amazing and the 1 thing we had to do was this hike. It’s simply incredible. The views are amazing. At the top there are nice rocks to rest on and take in the views and have a picnic. You MUST do this hike. It took... more

We kinda ran into this place on accident when strolling through Great Barrington. Sure enough I get home check Trip advisor and its listed as the highest rated restaurant in Great Barrington. Another example of how good Trip Advisor is. Back to the pizza. It was Columbus Day weekend; Monday lunch time so there was a wait. We ordered a... more

Who would've thought that this little town in the Berkshires has some of the best pizza in the world. I started with a salad that consisted of spring mix, toasted pecans, candied figs and apricots and the creamiest balsamic dressing I've ever had. The combinations of ingredients on each pizza was crafted by someone with a great palate. Don't deviate... more

My husband I stayed at the Wainwright Inn for several nights in early October. I highly recommend this inn if you stay in Great Barrington. The location is ideal being only 3 blocks from the center of town. Far enough away to avoid the noise but close enough to walk to everything. There are few options for lodging in the... more

Aegean Breeze

The seafood at Aegean Breeze is wonderful and fresh. The Red Snapper is perfect, they filet your fishfro you if you request, they have great mussels, and lobster ravioli. The only things that I don't care for are the grape leaves and spanikopita. Ironic, since it is a greek restaurant, not a seafood restaurant. The service is a 7 out... more

I am a resident of Great Barrington who has been to Cafe Adam a number of times. The sometime male host (I believe is from France?) is often offensive. His obnoxious manner has not only turned off my husband and me but our neighbors as well. While his manner has not kept us from returning the following probably will....Just a... more
