On a weekend get-a-way to Cape Cod, based on a recommendation from a friend, my family and I went to dinner at the Mad Platter. A plain store-front doesn't do justice for the quality of food served. The menu features subs, pizza, wraps, salads, soups, and some classic italian dishes. Chef Ralph helped us at the counter, along with his... more
I was traveling for work and enjoyed my stay. However, I had a very random schedule and it was not at all in sync with the owners, I was on the lower level of the house, and sound traveled. I know I probably woke them at night sometimes and if I was sleeping past 9am I was awaken by "house... more
My husband and I stayed at Southcape with my parents the week before high season 2008. We were in a townhouse where the deck faced the trees. The resort wasn’t as nice as other properties we have stayed at (RCI), but livable. It was a 2 bdrm, 1 king and 1 with twin beds. There were 2 bathrooms with the... more
We have tried Asia on 2 occasions since it opened. We were keeping our fingers crossed that a good restaurant would finally open in this location and sadly our hopes were dashed. As the name implies Asia tries to interpret a variety of Asian foods - Japanese, Chinese, Thai, Vietnamese. It does all of them so-so and misses the mark... more
A bit too precious for my tastes, but good food if pricey. more
My fiance and I were in Mashpee for a family event in August and decided to stay in the carriage suite of the Alexander Hamilton House. We based our decision on the glowing TripAdvisor reviews and the relative scarcity of reasonably priced, well-appointed accommodations in the area. This place is an excellent value compared to other local options (our friends... more
I visited the Raw Bar during my August 2008 stay in East Falmouth, which is about 20 minutes away. A google search for 'best lobster roll" on Cape Cod tipped me off to this place. Getting there is a bit tricky as it lies deep within the planned golf community of New Seabury near Poppanesett Beach. Print a map with... more
My wife and I and another couple exchanged into the Sea Mist Resort in a one bedroom 2 floor townhouse. The main floor had a full bathroom, kitchen. living room and walk-out to a patio with table, chairs and umbrella. The upstairs was a large master bedroom which had a window looking over the downstairs living room. This allowed extra... more
First of all, our prepaid and pre-booked rooms were given away before we checked in. My group of 4 was placed in a larger suite, but we had to share 1 bathroom among the four of us. The first room in which we were placed reeked of mold. It was sickening. The owner claimed there was no smell, but after... more
This new cupcake shop is fantastic. These cupcakes (baked daily on-site) are moist, flavorful and just the right size. The frosting is a hand-made buttercream that is TO DIE FOR! You must try the "Chocolate Overload" and the "Chocolate Mint Madness". A visit to the shop is worth the smell alone. As soon as you walk in you are pleasantly... more
I've been meaning to write a review on my favorite Cape Cod haunts for a long time. Not sure what the other reviewer experienced, but I have had consistently great food in a clean atmosphere over at least 20 times at this Persy's location over the past few years. Persy's prides itself on having a number of locations on Cape... more
Just returned from Carbo's after an excellent LOBSTER meal for $11.99! !!!!! It was as good as from any finer restaurant. It came with a choice of potato and vegetable~ that was great. Add a salad for $1.99-even a really good caesar salad/ It was all amazingly tasty and really worth the $$. Drinks are a little expensive` $8.75 for... more
Hmmm what to say about Bobby Byrnes... I have a personal pet peeve against servers that say "everything" in response to the question, "what is good here?" After hearing something like this, one would assume that whatever is chosen off of the menu, it's a sure bet, right? After a reccomendation from our server (it seemed she was being forced... more
We were very happy to see the new restaurant that took over the area that was inhabited by 2 previous restaurants in Mashpee Commons is a bonifide new business. It has been completely refurbished with smart and contemporary design and colors and a great new sushi bar were you can watch the experts make fresh sushi. We ate there last... more
I would not go there again and I would not recommend it to my friends. Our unit was so OUTDATED – I could not believe my eyes – am I in 2008 or in 1980s? The TVs are old and cheap, all furniture smells filthy, there is no internet connection in the rooms. They charge $10 /a person if you... more
Best ice cream on Cape Cod with freshly made waffle cones. more
We were looking on line for a pet friendly B&B on Cape Cod. The web site for the Alexander Hamilton House caught our attention and we called to get more information. As it turned out, everything that we were told was understated. The B&B is a charming Victorian Home that looks like it has been there for a long time... more
