Covered Bridge House

If I could afford to go on a permanent vacation this is the kind of place that would make it a wonderful life. The rooms in the B&B are warm and inviting. The grounds around the Inn are well manicured. The covered bridge gift shoppe is very unique. The innkeepers, Dan and Nancy cooked us a great breakfast every morning.... more

My wife and I have been going to the Bernehof for 10 years now and we have always had a fantastic time. June and George have made sure of this with this wonderful B&B. I do want to say that for the last 4 years Scamp and Robin have made our weekend alway something to remember. Scamp makes the best... more

On the recommendation of our B&B hostess, my husband and I ate at the Red Parka last week. I would say that, overall, the food was good; my husband enjoyed the ribs that he ordered, and I might have enjoyed my steak if the service had not been so strange. (As for the salad bar, it looked pretty pathetic...no eggs... more

We did not stay at the B&B. However, we loved the look of it and may consider staying there at a future date. However, I did want to write a brief review of the gift shoppe. It was so cute and is certainly different, being on an old covered bridge. They have decorative flags lining the span of bridge until... more

Every local we asked, said that this was the best place to eat, so off we went. I was unsure about dining here after reading a review that said it was "going downhill", but from the minute we walked in, we were treated like family. Genuine smiles and greetings - not the norm in most places I've been lately!. The... more

I spent 4 nights and 5 days in NH (this visit) with my wonderful friend who was formerly from the area and had known this hotel was here so suggested we stay. It was an excellent choice. The building itself was beautiful, colored red and white against the backdrop of the fall foliage of the mountains and hills directly behind... more

Joseph's Spaghetti Shed

Sep 23, 2008

This place was extremely overpriced for below average food. For spaghetti with sauce (no meat), a tiny salad and bread, it cost $16.95. We weren't served our drinks until after we already ate our salad. We would have been happier with a 50 cent package of ramen noodles! more

Will's Inn

For our recent trip to Storyland with our 2 year old, my husband and I chose Will's Inn. I would have rather a B&B, but we felt she would have more room to stretch out and be a kid at this location. It was just 4 minutes away from Storyland by car and convenient to some restaurants and a small... more

The food here is wonderful. We have been to this restaurant and pub a number of times, and each time both food and service were consistently excellent. We have eaten at practically every establishment in the area, and definitely rank this among our favorites. We recently met the gracious owners. Special thanks to Scamp and Robin. more

The park has things to do for all ages. We have it down to a routine. They offer a deal that if you go in after 3pm you can get another day for free. We usually go 2 days in a row. First thing in the morning, this place is PACKED. It gets less crowded as the day goes on.... more

We took our two year old daughter to Story Land for her first experience with an amusement park. It was perfect. The park was very clean and the refreshments were reasonably priced. All ingredients for their food is available on their website. Great for those with allergies. There were healthy food options available too which was a great bonus. The... more

We had a lovely stay at the Wills Inn. We went for the long weekend to Storyland w/our 3 year old. The location was very convenient. The place was spotless, the people friendly. The pool was quite nice and clean as well. We would go back! Nearby Red Parka Pub was very good, as was Margaritaville. Both places were kid... more

I have been coming to the Red Parka for about 18 years.. As a college person, young professional, and now as a spouse and parent of a 7 year old. (used to be skiing, now it is Storyland). This year 2008 we went and while it was OK, it was not as good as it has been in past years.... more

I have gone to this park three times with my 2 and 3 year old. I have more fun than my kids do because the adults can go on every ride. There is maybe only four rides we can't go on because of height restrictions. Kids under 3 are free. They have free kennels for your dog (first come first... more

If you want to avoid the long lines, go to Story Land on a Sunday. We called ahead and asked for their least busy day of the week, and were told Sunday was it. They were right! We got to the park when it opened, and had no trouble going on every ride as often as we wanted, right up... more

My family has made Storyland a family tradition. This past week we took our children (5,8 and 10) back there for the first time in 4 years. It was the first time my 5 year old had been. The park is clean and very family friendly. Bathrooms are located all over the park and they are very clean. I am... more

We thought Story Land would be perfect for our 4 and 2 year olds. Not having been there since I was young myself, I remembered nothing about where things were. I highly recommend taking a train ride around the park BEFORE trying to undertake the park. It will give you a good idea as to which areas are best suited... more

Stay away! The place is a dive. The bathroom was horrible, hair in the shower, the shower head was half blocked, the door mad a terrible noise, and the toilet plugged. We called the front office and we were told to get a plunger!!! The room was big but very shabby, the beds were super uncomfortable the chair was filthy... more

Besides having a great, affordable time with my family, I also experienced true "customer service". Simply, when I lost a hat on their log ride, I told the ride operator who assured me he would keep checking for it. Also he called a supervisor to check the water lanes... and on top of that suggested I check in with Guest... more

Joseph's Spaghetti Shed

As a previous reviewer mentioned we thought it would be an inexpensive place for some simple Italian food based on the very humble appearance of the restaurant. Then I saw the prices and thought maybe this is a hole in the wall type place with good food. Wrong! It was way overpriced and the food mediocre at best. I had... more
