I picked this hotel as I was hoping it would be roomier, cleaner and better value for money than hotels I had previously stayed in when visiting New York. I was delighted with my stay. The rooms were spacious and clean. There was a view of the statue of liberty and Manhattan skyline from our room which was just a... more

Liberty Science Center

Nov 13, 2008

I will prefix this by saying we are a HUGE science loving family and we really enjoy many of the local museums (i.e. Hall of Science in Queens). We had been to Liberty Science before the renovations on many occasions and thought it was a great place. Both adults/kids were entertained by the exhibits/great shows and the hands-on learning when... more

This hotel is an incredibly convenient place to stay if you are look for a hotel when visiting New York City. It is less expensive than Manhattan hotels and it is only a 10 minute PATH train ride to 33rd St. The station is right next to the hotel. This part of Jersey City is very clean and safe even... more

We visited the Holland Motor Lodge on 1st November 2008 for five days and I was overly impressed in everyway. The location was ideal for visiting Manhattan with the PATH train only 5-10 minutes walk, the room was clean, comfortable and I couldn't have asked for better. The staff were also very friendly and helpful. There was a continental breakfast... more

Arrived very late at night and found someone had "allready booked in under our name". Assigned room 18 which is on the ground floor corner overlooking the entrance to the Holland Tunnnel at a couple of feet above ground level. Small window gave us a feeling of being in jail. Fairly noisy with traffic and people walking by. Also noisy... more

I decided to plan a trip to NYC for my girlfriend's birthday. Early on I noticed the high prices and low ratings of NYC city hotels. I began to check the surrounding areas and thank God I found this place! The price was very affordable, the location was better than any NYC hotel with the PATH station located 20 steps... more

Manhattan probably has some of the most expensive hotels anywhere, and when looking to take a 5-day vacation in NYC, this property came up in searches on Marriott's site. We stayed here using points because it was a fantastic value for a Cat-3 property. We chose this property because it was a Cat-3 (also also cheaper than others for a... more

We've just returned from a fantastic trip to New York. The Hyatt Regency was a wonderful hotel and perfect as a base to travelling around NYC. The rooms were lovely, clean and big. The carpet was little grubby but that didnt really matter. The staff were lovely and helpful! The shower was the highlight, really powerful! great after a hard... more

This was my first stay at the Holland Motor Lodge. The staff were great, the room was clean, well appointed with a fridge, and microwave, and quiet. We were quite pleased with the quality of the breakfast. It is very convenient to the West Side Highway in Manhattan, which is our route to and from New England. We'll be back! more

This is quite a out-of-date review, but I must say Candlewood Suites Jersey City is really a good place if you visit NYC. I drove to Candlewood Suites Jersey City from Ohio at 2006. Thanks to the wonderful location of Candlewood Suites, I avoided the peak traffic just in front of the Holland Tunnel. If you make a trip to... more

Absolutely a great stay. We used it for a one day stop in NYC. Dropped our bags at the hotel and they called us as soon as our room was ready. It is a perfect spot to get over to the city. The PATH train is right outside which is a 5-10 min ride into NYC. We got on the... more

This is a great place to stay if you want to be close to Manhattan but don't want the street noise and sirens blazing all night! It's located in between 2 PATH train stations, only a 5 minute walk away but there is a shuttle bus running in the mornings. Door to door you'll be in central Manhattan in 20-30... more

Great price and great location. Visited NYC over a weekend. The hotel is right by the subway and the place was nice and clean. Stayed in a different hotel down the street and it wasn't nearly as nice. The cost was twice as much and the room was not as clean. more

We stayed here from Oct 16th - 20th. The hotel was great. View of Manhattan superb! Concierge, business center, and small store on site (snacks. meds, small stuff). CVS pharmacy and a restaraunt in the financial center also next door. The staff was very friendly and helpful for our first visit to NYC. We stayed here due to prior reviews... more

We chose the Doubletree as we had previously enjoyed a stay in Washington DC. We've been here twice and have yet to have a great meal. The decor and service has always been good but the meals have been mediocre at best. Considering that the prices are in line with those of OX (which has much better food), we're disappointed. more
