Old Taos Guesthouse Bed and Breakfast

Nov 18, 2008

If you've not been to Taos, or even if you have, book your stay at the Old Taos Guesthouse B&B today. My sisters and I recently took our mother there, a dream of hers, for her birthday. I talked & listened to over 20 inn-keepers, looking for just the right tone, and after talking to Tim, I was very determined... more

We come to Taos two to three times a year and we NEVER miss a trip to Orlando's! The posole is SO delicious... if you haven't had it before, make some time and head over to Orlando's! There's usually a wait for dinner but tough it out and you won't regret it! more

Don Fernando de Taos

Leadville, CO
Nov 15, 2008

We stayed at the Don Fernando for 2 night and we had 2 rooms. We were extremely happy with the accomodations. The front desk person was very nice and helpful with directions. Both rooms were clean and quiet. We loved the layout of the hotel with the grass and trees. It's not a traditional set up, it felt more secure.... more

So much has already been said about Richard Spera and his Casa Gallina, that I have to take a different way of viewing it. Let me tell you what it is NOT. If you are expecting marble bathrooms, a concierge, daily maid service and snob appeal, this Inn is not for you. There is no pool and there are no... more

Adobe Sun God Lodge

Nov 12, 2008

We returned to the Sun God Lodge after a previous favorable stay and once again were very happy with our experience. The Sun God Lodge is representative of the local flavor of Taos. Quaint, historic , clean and friendly atmosphere . We definitely will stay there the next time we visit Taos. more

Indian Hills Inn, Taos Plaza

Nov 12, 2008

Carpets in rooms were very dirty and there were holes in the walls in the bathrooms. Staff were not very accomodating and if we had not paid in advance, we would have moved on. Rate we paid was around $79 and when we arrived there was a sign outside advertising rooms "from $59". I feel we vastly overpaid for what... more

A suprising amount of activity at this small hotel mid-week. We loved the historic qualities, very friendly staff, live music, great food, and lots of evening visitors to the lobby. The fireplace in the room was great and complete with wood and starter provided. We took one of the older courtyard rooms so we could have a real fireplace and... more

La Posada de Taos

5 of 5 stars
Knoxville, TN
Nov 11, 2008

La Posada de Taos was our favorite b & b on our trip through New Mexico. The house is much larger than you would think when you are driving up. It's a short walk to the Taos square, where there are restaurants and shops. Brad was great about making recommendations and reservations for restaurants and hot air balloons, whatever you... more

Graham's Grille

Nov 10, 2008

We had the chance to go to Graham's Grille when it first opened and loved it. Our next visit back to Taos included dining at Graham's again and it was even better ...which I did not think was possible. I loved the caesar salad, a real caesar with anchovy not those creamy things you find so often called Caesar. I... more

Not every B&B gives you such a warm and relaxing experience. My husband and I just returned from two wonderful nights at La Posada de Taos. I can't say enough about how wonderful our experience was! The crackling fire in the morning, the amazing breakfasts, access to bottled water, hot tea and other refreshments.. it was like being in my... more

Orinda is beautifully located just out of town but so private that it feels like it is out in the country. Our room had a stunning view of Taos Mountain and a field of playful prairie dogs right in front of it. The room was well appointed with gas fireplace facing the sofa, good bed, lots of storage space, mini... more

Best Western Kachina Lodge & Meetings Center

4 of 5 stars
albuquerque, new mexico
Nov 5, 2008

We just got back from a trip to Taos, New Mexico and stayed at the Best Western Kachina Lodge. I wanted to write a report on Trip Advisor and I was very surprised about the negative comments that BW Kachina Lodge had received. It IS an older property built in the 1960's but had a LOT of charm and character.... more

La Posada de Taos

This authentic Taos inn is just 2 block from the bustle of Taos's shops and galleries, yet peaceful and serene, with views of the stunning Taos mountain from every angle. Clean and comfortable with a great deal of attention to the details that make a B and B stay so much fun. Love the innkeepers. We'll be back . more

Sungod Lodge

We came to this nice hotel without reservation, and just because it looked nice from outside. It was a positive experience. We especially loved the wonderful inner court and the possibility to sit outside, and also the really nice style of the rooms, which are clean, large, got all you need. We thought, that towels were missing, asked for them... more

Hotel la Fonda de Taos

Nov 3, 2008

Yes, the location on the plaza is great! Yes, the little sitting areas on odd half floors are cute! But, believe me, you really don't want to hear that much of what the people in the next room are doing! You know the sound proofing is bad when they supply ear plugs along with the little soaps in the bathroom.... more

Days Inn Taos

Nov 3, 2008

I'm writing this review because my friend and I were at this hotel and were VERY pleased with the service, the cleanliness, the location and the value. I never give ANYPLACE a 5 star rating, because I've been to a perfect hotel. But this Days Inn is an easy 4 star for it's price, in ratio to what you get... more

The title is there as it seems there is a bit of a rivalry between the two. Taos is different from Sante Fe, smaller, feels more "Western". The Taos Inn was great. Perfect location, small, cozy no frills rooms-which fits in w/ Taos and a great place to stay. When the say The Inn is the living room of Taos they... more

La Posada de Taos

Nov 2, 2008

My visit at La Posada was perhaps the most relaxing, pleasant, weekend I have had in a very long time. The innkeeper Brad was very knowledgeable about the history of Taos and the area and helpful in directing us to things to do and a delight. The chef Michael prepared the most fabulous breakfasts that kept us going long after... more

Taos Pueblo

I also thought that it would be a waste of time. They all proved me wrong. Everyone was polite and treated us well. We walked the site first on our own and then with a guide. The location is very scenic. Take the time to talk to one of the residents one on one. We learned quite a bit about... more
