Muchenje Lodge

We were supposed to stay in this dump for 4 nights! We got out the next day. We had been to 5 places previous to this one, all of which were wonderful. The first cabin we were given was small and dirty. There was one screen on a window held together with duct tape. We were given a larger room... more

We stayed here four nights, which was about more than enough. Muchenje, like most other lodges, haven't really planned their offerings for more than 2 nights and everything starts to repeat itself. The booking was quite fine although we didn't learn until at the lodge that they had only charged us a deposit, not the full stay -- but they... more

Muchenje is located on the western side of Chobe, and as such, requires about a 45 minute drive from Kasane, which is located on the eastern side of the park. We were picked up at the Kasane Airport and transferred to Muchenje, where smiling faces greeted us. The staff were exceptionally polite and did all they could to assist us.... more

Liya is located very far from town so unless you have a car at your disposal you are stuck at the guest house, which offers dinner for an extra fee. The rooms are old and not so clean. We saw what we believe to be rat poison at a corner of our bathroom though we didn't see any rat, dead... more

Duma Tau was our favorite of the 5 camps/lodges we visited In Botswana. It scores very high in all the “key categories”: food, service, accommodation, staff attitude, game viewing focus, guiding skills, etc and we didn’t find any major flaw worth mentioning. The camp has 9 tents, accessible by elevated wooden walkways, ours was tent #3, the closest to the... more

The Chobe Safari Lodge was full so had to look for other accomodation for Chobe. This was a lucky thing for us. Like other reviewers, just have to comment on the fabulous view from the lodge and the chalets (rooms). It is wonderful and a joy just to sit on the balcony of your room and view the hundreds of... more

Elephant Valley Lodge

Sep 13, 2008

The lodge was very nice in a terrific setting. There is a large watering hole right on the other side of the fence. A large number of elephants came every day, as well as a variety of other animals. The bar and dining areas have a great atmosphere and are very relaxing..... The tents are very nice, filled with amenities.... more

We booked our safari through Wilderness Safaris and had a FANTASTIC time. If you enjoy Luxury with a great safari it would be very difficult to beat Kingspool. Our guide Matthew Copham was by far the best we have ever enjoyed in all of Africa, his humor, game tracking and knowledge of the area is unsurpassed. We tracked leopards, wild... more

We stayed at Savute Safari Lodge for two nights in August. Ask for one of the rooms overlooking the elephant watering hole - not the freshest smelling, but well worth it to sit on your deck and be right next to the elephants! Our guide Gee was wonderful. They warn at all the camps not to walk alone at night,... more

Kings Pool Camp

2 nights were simply not enough at this luxurious oasis on the River Linyanti on the Northern boarder of Botswana and Namibia. We stayed at this camp in the busy season, but we never felt crowded. We spent much of our time on safari viewing local wildlife, but this is a 5* safari experience. August is winter and early morning... more

Following a recent 2-week Safari “organized” by Livingstone Trails, I beg that anyone considering using them in the future, reconsiders. Our itinerary included camping in the Okavango Delta for three days, then a trip through Kruger National Park for the remainder of the trip. We booked the trip and paid our deposits in January in 2008, and Yogi (one of... more

We were booked into Kings Pool by Africa2Go. Beautiful camp, fantastic service. But the main attraction is the staff. Managers Olivia and Connie set the tone for a great experience. The staff--guides, chef, service and management--were encouraged to mix with the guests, making each mealtime an event in its own right. Highly recommended. more

Liya Guest Lodge

Aug 14, 2008

The Liya Guest Lodge was dirty and most of the staff was not very helpful. Our room had accumulated so much dust that I had an allergic reaction and had to clean it myself. (At my request, the staff changed the sheets the next day, which was at least nice of them and definitely helped). However, no apologies for the... more

wow wow wow - this is pretty much the only way i could possibly describe this magnificient place. From the moment we arrived at Elephant Valley Lodge we were welcomed and made to feel relaxed. We had had a problem with our transfer which was done by another company so we were expecting a problem. This was not to be... more

We had an amazing two night stay here, and I cannot recommend this place highly enough. We loved every single minute of it. We were collected from the airport with great efficiency, and quickly transported to the lodge. The first thing that struck me was the view across the plains, as you pull up in the jeep. It’s spectacular. The... more

Savuti Camp

The first thing I should say is I feel quite guilty only givng this camp 4 stars. The tents were lovely having been recently overhauled, and the whole camp fitted in very nicely with it's surroundings. The hosting was very friendly, obliging and proactive, the staff were all lovely, and the food was exceptional. So why only 4 stars I... more

We spent 2 incredible nights here in July. Having arrived late after a fraught day of flight delays we were met at the airport by the lodge with cold drinks and instantly transported into the wonderful ambience of Botswana. As we drove out of the airport into the National Park for the 40 min journey to the lodge we stopped... more

This is a CC Africa camp. We stayed 3 nights and then the camp was being moved to another camp site. It was fantastic - all the staff were happy, smiley, friendly people. The food was amazing - how do they manage such style on a camp fire?! Tea is brought to your tent in the morning and hot water... more

July 6-9, 2008 Kings Pool. In my opinion, there are at least four components to consider in evaluating a camp: 1. Accommodations and facilities 2. Staff 3. Food 4. Game viewing. Kings Pool rates 5 stars for all of them. The accommodations as other reviews have mentioned are top notch. We arrived after the renovations of the main area, and... more

Chobe park is spread along the chobe river between botswana and namibia. It's got a fantastic elephant population, and these can be seen quite easily from the road network within the park. It's well worth doing the sundown river cruizes that are organised from each hotel and resort, the boats get within 15 to 20 feet of the hippos that... more
