Pom Pom Camp

5 of 5 stars
Cedar Crest, New Mexico
Jul 23, 2008

Photos do not do justice to Pom Pom Camp. The main lodge is airy, open with a very high thatched ceiling/roof. The lodge is situated to maximize the lovely view overlooking a lagoon with the vista continuing on to green islands, reeds....peaceful beauty. On the lagoon side of the lodge, on the sand, sits a circle of director's chairs with... more

Sandibe Safari Lodge

5 of 5 stars
Dublin, Ireland
Jul 12, 2008

We stayed at Sandibe at the start of our honeymoon in September for 3 nights, and it was the best out of all of the 4 lodges we stayed in. The staff were fabulous (we really loved Judi), the food absolutely fantastic (we still dream of their home-made breads), the setting perfect. The cabins are not too far spread out... more

We stayed in Jao for 2 nights as a part of our honeymoon to Botswana and Zambia. Our initial impression was that it was fantastic, and the travel agent had indicated to us that it was one of the top properties in Botswana, however we have mixed feelings on this place. The Good: - Game viewing was fantastic and the... more

I stayed a few nights with AUDI CAMP and went on a three day MOKORO safari into the OKAVANGO DELTA with them ......it was absolutely SPECTACULAR. About 5 km north of MAUN this extremely well run place caters for campers as well as people who dont have 4x4's to make it into the DELTA or MOREMI on their own steam.... more

Selinda Camp

Jun 30, 2008

Selinda lived up to all of my expectations. To me this part of Botswana was a bit wilder - everything felt a little bit more raw, and that was fantastic. But Selinda is truly a beautiful camp. Overlooking waterways and expansive floodplains, there is an air of serenity about the place. The communal area was extremely comfortable. Places to share... more

Kwetsani is one of 3 Botswana safari camps visited in early May 2008, set in a magnificent water wonderland, the Okavango Delta. Upon arrival via a charter flight, Phenyo, our Kwetsani safari guide was there to greet us and provide transport to the camp. We were in awe of the delta, the prolific birdlife, the reeds, lilies, papyrus, and palm... more

Camp Okavango

4 of 5 stars
Sydney, Australia
Jun 29, 2008

This was one of seven lodges we stayed at. I was a bit disappointed, in that our purpose in staying at these lodges was to see game. Camp Okavango however does not do game drives. It has a walk across an island, a relaxing poling across a shallow river bed, and fishing. Other than that, you are not going to... more

Jao Camp

My first impression of Jao was "wow". It is a gorgeous camp in every way - great communal area encompassing lounge, library, bar and dining area over 2 levels. Big stairs everywhere though which can be a little daunting at first. The rooms are enormous - at least 3 times bigger that most in the Delta. They are linked by... more

Camp Okavango

Jun 26, 2008

Camp Okavango was a fabulous experience. Our guide was very knowledgeable - the walking safari was amazing (and I was relieved not to come across any crocodiles whilst walking) We were made to feel really welcome by Michelle and MC and the rest of their team. The flight from Kasane was a highlight as was the mokoro trip! A great... more

Duba Plains Camp

Jun 21, 2008

We spent a three very happy days at Duba Plains camp. The highlight was the very cheerful and helpful all Botswanan staff with whom we had a great deal of fun. The atmosphere in the camp was a great credit to the manager Molausi and his two assistant managers Tebby and Bogong The tented accommodation was of a very high... more

Little Vumbara Camp

Jun 20, 2008

Little Vumbara is a water experience. Within the concession it is located in, there are two Premier Camps – Vumbara North and Vumbara South. We were met at the airstrip by Lazarus (Laz), who drove us the 45 minutes to the ‘Boat Shed’. To access Little Vumbara, you park the car at the ‘Boat Shed’, and take a speed boat... more

Duba Plains Camp – Wilderness Safari’s – 6 nights When we landed, we were collected at the airstrip by our guide, Rueben in a customised Land Rover. There were three rows of 3 seats, with the last row having less depth for your legs. Rueben briefed us on safari safety and drove us to the camp. Every time your vehicle... more

Kwara Camp - Kwando Safaris

Kwara Camp We found this camp run down and seedy with a management that clearly did not care. The concession area, (like other parts of the Okavango) is very attractive and the guides are comparable with other camps. The camp is at the east end of the concession area and as a result evening drives are unattractively into the setting... more

Chitabe Camp

Jun 10, 2008

This was the 2nd of 3 safari camps we stayed at during a 9 night and 10 days safari trip. We went to Kwetsani first, then Chitabe, and ended with Savuti Camp. In comparison this was personally my least favorite of the camps due to many reasons comparatively, yet it was still very nice. Out of the 3, these rooms/accommodations... more

We spent 3 nights / 4 days from March 09, 2008 - March 12, 2008 at beautiful Kwetsani Camp. Kim and Shane were our glorious host and hostess. After visiting 3 safari camps over 9 nights and 10 days, each of the 3 were different. After our total trip to Africa of almost 3 weeks (1 week in South Africa,... more

I stayed here w. a freind as part of a 12 day safari of Botswana and Zambia's premier Wilderness Safaris Camps. It's a lovely Italian designed all wooden camp w. an Indonesian feel to it. There is a 1 km long wooden walk way up to 2 meters high in places directly under trees to the rooms making you feel... more

Firstly, and I should've added this to my review of Lagoon Camp, I would like to say this has been the best trip to Africa so far. We were very unsure of what to expect, especially going in the 'shoulder' season, but soon discovered we had nothing to worry about. Little Kwara is a lovely camp with wonderful tents built... more

We stayed in Delta camp for 2 nights but could have stayed so much longer. I have never been in such a tranquil place. We stayed in the Tree House and woke both mornings to the sound of Lions in the distance. Our guide was wonderful and would meet us each morning before our Mokoro excursions. The food was excellent... more
