My son and I stayed at 1000 Acres from June 30 to July 3. Here is our review, the good and the not so good. The Good The horses were very healthy and appeared to be well taken care of. The riding trails were beautiful and the cowboys were very attentive to the riders. Our waitress, Evelyn, was top notch.... more

My family of four, celebrated my 50th birthday during Memorial Day weekend, along with 10 other relatives including my father-in-law who was celebrating his 75th birthday. We had the best time!! There was so much to do there from simple ping pong and foosball, to tennis and golf, horseback riding, hiking, line dancing.... For an extra fee we rented kayaks... more

My 20-something daughters and I just spent Memorial Day weekend here for a girls' get-a-way. It was recommended by a friend who has been bringing her son here, for years. We enjoyed our experience so much, we have booked Labor Day weekend 2008 and Mem Day w/e 2009. We stayed in a duplex cabin. There was one double bed and... more

I had gone here as a little girl and always remembered it, so this past Mother's Day my kids and husband took me back. It was great! We rode horses until we could barely walk. Cowboy Bill was tough on his ranglers, but that only made us feel safer when we went out on the trails...The food was great, homestyle... more

I went there for New Year. We were a family of 6 and it was just about $1K for three days. The hut we stayed in was chilly, rustic and cramped, but we didn't spend any time in there unless we were sleeping. The food, especially the soup, was amazing and included in our rate. The entertainment wasn't our style,... more

My family has been going to this ranch for 36 years. Our kids are now bringing their children and their friends. This place has a lot for everyone and the people are extremely friendly and cordial from the owner on down. All guests intermingle and new friends are made each year. All kinds of activities are offered for all ages... more

We had a great time. People are so friendly and seating at meals was family style so we got to know everyone better. It was like going on vacation with a group of you oldest and dearest friends. Trail rides on a fall afternoon were the best! And it seemed like we ate and ate and ate. And the greatest... more

We went with friends and family, and had a blast. There were groups there that had been going for almost as long as the place has been there. Food was SUPER!!! Chef Jimmy went out of his way to accomodate unusual food allergies, and all the rest of the staff was just as nice! Riding was lots of fun and... more

We love 1000 Acres. We go every November and this year will be our 8th year. We have a group of about 18 and we go the 2nd weekend in November, which is Country Couples Weekend. No kids, and it is a great time. The staff is wonderful; we love the food and spending our time together in the Adirondacks.... more

Went to 1000 Acres Ranch 18 years ago on a Singles Weekend with some friends from work. Met a wonderful man that weekend and ended up married to him! It's been 18 of the best years of my life. Another girlfriend that went with me that weekend wound up meeting someone and marring him too. I'd love to return to... more

We started going to 1000 Acres when I was about 11. That continued through my teens, and as an adult I still go back. It amazes me that they can cater so well to families, but have such a great nightlife right on the ranch every night at the "saloon". Most of the employees have been there for years, and... more

20 minutes away from Lake George Village, 1000 Acres is a small ranch resort, very rustic, no TV in rooms, but terrific fun for the whole family. They have BEAUTIFUL horse trails throughout the Adirondacks, and there is riding for all ages. They have ponies for the wee little ones. They also offer a 9 hole golf course, 2 outdoor... more
