Villa Dolce Vita - Soliman Bay

After reading the previous review, I felt a need to write about our own experience a couple of years ago. I found the rooms to be very comfortable, the food was very good, the pool and facility in general very nice. The owners were hospitable and unobtrusive. It is a true Bed and Breakfast, and of course the owners are... more

Just wanted to share with everyone how much we enjoyed our stay at the Villa Luminosa. We have stayed in the area before and highly recommend this particular home as it was just wonderful and a true architectural delight. We had gorgeous views from all over. The lay out of the home was very spacious and no one was on... more

Folks, we stayed in Villa Dolce Vita Soliman Bay in Summer 2007 for a very long 3 weeks almost sabbatical vacation. We rented the whole casita (2 adults + 2 boys) what I definitely would recommend if you are sensitive being very close to strangers. The property and rooms are very nice, a bit small but very well maintained. You... more

We stayed in Casita Ik for ten days in April, and while we agree with much of the commentary, feel it necessary to warn potential guests of a few things. The good: beautiful water and bay, never crowded, lush surroundings for that area. The bad: cawing, squawking birds that started in about 5 a.m. and could raise the dead; and... more

Nah Uxibal in Soliman Bay is a "slice of heaven" The accommodations were perfect. The design of the units were created by an award winning architect and it shows! You can be in awe of the craftsmanship for days - OR - be in awe of the location on the bay. 25 steps away from the water, snorkeling, kayaking and... more

Three long months after we booked this trip, and without giving any regard to a recent crappy review of this villa, we were on our plane leaving Detroit behind us for a week. The only real concern that popped into my head was the fact that I didn’t pack a knife for slicing limes. I’ll cut right to the chase;... more

My husband and I have always been looking for our perfect vacation and we found it here. We stayed in a casita on the beach. It was awesome. The waves, the breeze and the beautiful sunrises were unreal. We loved the solitude Soliman Bay offered. We would make a short run to Tulum every day for fresh fish and tortillas... more

casa corazon is a little slice of paradise located in quiet soliman bay. what makes it outstanding are the grounds, which are covered with luch vegetation, and the location directly on a beautiful white sand beach. the bay is quite beautiful as well, and quiet. there are 3 or 4 casitas, and we have stayed 2 years in a row... more

Prior to our vacation we read a negative Tripadvisor review about Dolce Vita, so we were somewhat nervous about what we would find there. As it turns out, we had a wonderful vacation experience. Our room was quite nice with a lovely view of the bay and ocean. The beach, pool setting and gardens are beautiful and the hosts, Chris... more

After reading the 2 negative reviews AFTER making my reservation, I was very nervous about what we had gotten into. I called the property manager about my concerns and she reassured me that the property was well maintained. When we arrived in the late evening we were very pleased. The grounds were softly lit and as we walked through the... more

We had the pleasure of staying at Nah Uxibal from March 29th to April 5th and have been home just a week.....it was very hard to leave and even harder to adjust to the real world again. Nah Uxibal consists of a main house, 2 studios under the main house and 2 casitas on the beach.....It is located on Soliman... more

If your idea of a dream vacation elicits visions of swimming in clear aqua-colored waters, relaxing on the beach while sipping delicious frozen drinks, diving, snorkling AND immersing yourself in a wonderful, friendly culture, PLEASE book a trip to Tulum, Mexico, but please DO NOT waste your money on Dolce Vita. "Do not waste your money" was one of the... more

Unfortunately, we can not give this place the glowing review so many others before us have. However, in the end, it's all relative to what you want on your vacation. For the price we paid per night I see no reason we had no access to a telephone. I left a 15 year old at home and for my peace... more

Do not, under any circumstances, stay in the studios unless (a) you know the people who are staying in the main house suite, or (b) you enjoy being able to hear other people snore, cough, fight with each other, yell at their infant, or crying infants. Basically, the studios aren't real rooms - they are extra bedrooms for the main... more

I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw that Dolce Vita was ranked third at Soliman Bay just above a place that had nothing but negative reviews. So like the prior reviewer, let me just just say that my wife and I spent a week inJanuary 2007 and will be returning next month for another week. If you want peace... more

Tankah inn is a located in the beautiful Tankah bay, about 10km from Tulum city center. We stayed there for 4 nights in early January - in the Tikal room. The room is just amazing, opens directly to the sea with a huge bay window. The hotel only has 5 rooms, and it makes for a very intimate, calm atmosphere.... more

Julie's Getaway is an overpriced camping experience. While the setting is beautiful, and the snorkeling and reef are nice, the facilities are sorely lacking. Gabby and Luis, the caretakers, try very hard to make the stay enjoyable. However, sleeping was difficult after my boys found huge black scorpions in their beds. Bugs flew around our heads constantly all night long.... more

My wife and I stayed in August for 3 nights in the Tikal Room and loved it. Loved the view, loved the breakfasts and especially loved the stories and conversation with our host, Willie, and his friend Mark during the breakfasts. They have great stories about the area and the Mayan people as well as being very helpful about visiting... more

On the last day of our vacation we discovered by chance this unknown and uncommerical gem of a cenote "park". We turned off the highway to Cancun only a few miles north of Tulum (to the left, big poster advertising Labna-Ha Magic MayanWorld) and followed a relatively poor dirt road for 8 km or so to Cenote Caracol. And ended... more

My wife and I recently spent a week at Casa del Corazon #1 at Soliman Bay in Tankah, Mexico. It is located about 10 minutes north of the town of Tulum on the Yucatan Peninsula.
