First impression, a delightful melding of colonial style with modern conveniences. The relaxing sound of a gurgling fountain in the central courtyard. Accommodations are bright, clean and very comfortable. The atmosphere relaxing, quiet and contemplative, but what really made our stay special, was our hostess Elaine. Elaine brings to Ajijic Suites a uniquely European touch, a professional and personalized attention... more

Just completed a week's stay at the suites. The most economical suites in the heart of Ajijic Village. We could easily leave our car and walk to the lake, shops, and just two blocks from the town's square. Filled with Mexican culture. Not only did we eat at the best places recommended by Elaine, the owner. We had access to... more

I am just back to the states after a 3 week stay at AS. I had intended to move to other properties while I was looking for a property in the area but the room, the amenities and the propriator were so comfortable and good value that I spent the entire stay here. Elaine is a jewel and assisted me... more

On Colon 2 blocks from the Plaza towards the lake. The setting is a peaceful garden with fountain and abundant flora. The service was impeccable. Our every need anticipated and met without being intrusive. There were many extras touches. Butter sculputed into a small pottery dish. Complimentary appetizer of cubed potato and zucchini served with a light and creamy seasoned... more

What a great place to stay! While planning my first visit to Ajijic, I started looking on the internet. As a TripAdvisor member I quickly found reviews to Estrellita's B&B in the heart of Ajijic. Reviews were so positive I decided to check out the website. I immediately liked what I saw and contacted the owner, Lorraine Pasini. How charming... more

We unfortunately choose a time when the owner, Cathy, was out of town, but her friend Carol, a former B&B owner herself, pitch hit for her beautifully. She was very helpfull providing us with information on sights to see and places to go.Cathy had pre-arranged a car to pick up one of our group who was arriving late in the... more

I recently stayed three nights at this lovely oasis in Ajijic. The hosts, Steve and Fernando, could not have been more helpful and sweet. The surroundings are just gorgeous, beautiful gardens, comfortable rooms, a nice pool, a wonderful living area, and fantastic breakfasts on the patio. Fernando is a trained chef and it shows! It is in a very accessible... more

Villa del Angel Bed and Breakfast

Villa del Angel was wonderful. A calm and lovely respite. Lupita was a gracious hostess and a fine cook. Even a cold beer on arrival! It was an easy walk to town and a great way to spend a hot afternoon by the pool. We had a very nice room on the ground level but next to us was a... more

Ole! Ola! Tapas y Mas

We had the pleasure of eating and drinking in this most pleasant new tapa bar in Ajijic. Every time we walked in we were greeted ..and given complimentary tapas with our drinks while we scanned the local specialitys of the day. Oscar and Herb are wonderful hosts....friendly, professional and above all serve great tapas. It is a notch above many... more

We very much liked the place, walking distance to everywhere. The accommodation was very clean, and the hostess always available for helpful advises. For 40$ per night we believe there is no better place with a large king size bed, small kitchen, TV and internet access, even free calls to the US and Canada as well as locally. Any tours... more

Each year we converge on Ajijic for family business, and due to the size of the group, La Nueva Posada closer to town, is usually booked. No worries. The relaxed atmosphere and landscaped gardens on the expansive property take care of us quite well. From an open thatched atrium entry to a brand new 2nd pool and jacquzzi, this is... more

Los Artistas B & B

TripAdvisor reviews of Los Artistas convinced us to stay there during our recent four day-trip to Ajijic, and we weren't disappointed. It's every bit as beautiful, peaceful, and enjoyable as others have described. We opted for the Mango Room, roomy and private with a nice tiled bathroom--it's one of three rooms in the casita in the back of the garden.... more

I certainly agree with other reviewers about the misdirected 5 star rating, however to suggest that it is adequate for locals and not 'americans' is downright insulting to the people. This place is not even fit for pigs. The entrace is tropical and relaxing. The rooms are dirty, dark, uncomfortable and everything you could expect to feel depressed and disgusted.... more

Casa de las Flores

We would like to thank Steve & Fernando for an excellent stay at Casa de las Flores. It is a great place, short driving distance from Guadalajara, all services, excellent attention and so nice to rest over the weekend. We book it just from seeing it on their website and we can not complaint. Our room was awsome, we were... more

We just came back from a 12 day stay in Ajijic. We chose to return to this lovely village and view it during the rainy season in order to decide if this is the kind of place we would like to retire in. I read Tripadvisor all the time prior to booking hotels and feel it is an excellent resource... more

Ole! Ola! Tapas y Mas

What has been missing in Ajijic has been a restaurant/bar like Ole! Ola! ... a great new Tapas Bar. Conveniently located at the corner of Donato Guerra and the 16 de Septiembre in the village of Ajijic. There are several great hotels within easy walking distance. Drop by for tapas (little bites) before or after dining; after the theatre. Arrange... more

We just returned from 2 days at QQ and could not have been more pleased. We stayed in The Carriage House which had a Super King bed, couch, kitchen and dining area. My wife and I are studying Spanish abroad in Guadalajara and our host family suggested we go see the charming village of Ajijic, about 45 minutes south of Guadalajara by second class bus. After doing some research online, we found Estrellita´s (formerly known as the Swan Inn), read the great reviews, and decided to give it a try. We had... more

We've visited this restaurant a number of times. We were deeply impressed with the setting, the food, and the hospitality. The salads were wonderful, as were the Mexican dishes and the Filet Mignon, and the prices were very reasonable. This villa is not only a Renaissance inspired restaurant, but painting classes are held here every week. more
