Hotel Zaci

This was one of the better hotels we stayed in during our travels through Mexico. If you have stayed at other budget hotels then you will definitely enjoy your stay. This is at near enough budget prices but above budget accommodation. Large rooms and very clean with TV and remote. Although the reception for the TV was a bit rubbish.... more

For our trip to Mexico, we wanted to split our time between seeing ruins and hanging out on the beach, so we booked El Meson as our home base for two nights while we explored the ruins. I am so glad we stayed here, as it was the most authentically Mexican experience we had on our trip. The set-up and... more

Don’t miss the little town of Valladolid on your next visit to the Yucatan. Located 159 km west of Cancun your driving time will vary dramatically depending on which road you take. The toll road (quota), used by first class busses, costs the driver $200 pesos or the equivalent of $20. Most taxi drivers and locals prefer the free road... more

The restaurant at EMdeM has it all - atmosphere, service, value for money - and most importantly, delicious food. My sister and I started off with the sangria and an appetizer. The sangria was not bettered the entire trip - tart and sweet, icy and definitely alcoholic - not sugary koolade like other stuff pushed at us. The sopa de... more

During a recent vacation to Cozumel, my husband came up with the brilliant idea to see as many of the Mayan Ruins as comfortably possible without all the fluff of prearranged and prepackaged resort tours, so we made up our own Mayan Ruin Adventure. By staying in Valladolid for one night, it is VERY feasible to visit the ruins of... more

We stayed at Valladolid only for one night, so we decided to book a cheap room (around 550 pesos). The room they gave us was clean and air conditioned but very small and simple. However the hotel is charming in general and the restaurant very good with a lot of choices. more

It was a pleasant stay. The hotel is nothing spectacular or fancy but it is well located. The room was okay but it had air conditioning and it was quiet at night. The pool was nice for relaxing as well and the breakfast was satisfying. What I did not like was the construction going on all over the town and... more

This charming hotel is well worth going out of your way on your Mexico trip! The rooms are well-appointed for a pueblocito like Valladolid, including cable TV (yay, we got to watch some of the Olympics!), a comfy bed, and lovely furniture. It's ideally located, just across the street from the pretty town square. Visit the Catedral San Gervasio if... more

I wouldn't recommend this hotel for people looking to have everything done for them save their toiliet duties, and they know who they are, at times, but this place turnded out to be better than I would have guessed for the price. My favorite part was being able to park the car for a few days duing our two weeks... more

We had the deluxe room - very nicely appointed with a comfortable king sized bed, gorgeous bath and huge shower. The hotel is awesome and we used it as a place to spend the night after spending a day at Chichen Itza and prior to traveling to Ek Balam. It ended up being the highlight of our trip! The dinner... more

We did not stay at the hotel, but we did stop for breakfast with our 3 kids (none over 10). The pancakes were a big hit, and I enjoyed the huevos revueltos with the addeed Mayan sausage. The service was great. Our waiter was patient and attentive (to the point of re-filling the coffee cup as much as I needed,... more

We just spent a lovely night at Casa Quetzal. The only regret we had is that we didn't spend another night! The room (#4) was absolutely clean and wonderfully decorated. The bathroom is beautiful (my wife now has ideas about remodeling). The whole ambiance of the inn is authentic Mexican colonial, with the rooms surrounding the courtyard. Our room did... more

The El Meson del Marque was a great stop-over hotel, and a very economical base for seeing Chichen Itza. Note that the hotel only takes American Express. If you want to guarantee your reservation with a credit card, you need to use American Express. Otherwise, if you plan far enough in advance, I believe you could send them a check... more

We booked a night at Hotel Zaci at the reception for one night cause we wanted a bit better lodging for our only night in Valladolid. The rooms are really nice, especially for their price level. Overall, we were satisfied with everything except for two things: There was no hot water which felt a bit of a disappointment for this... more

The Luz was recommended to me for its proximity to bus and taxi collectivo access, and is right on the main square and tourist area. It's a very laid back spot, and some of the staff speak English well enough to get by. The room I had on the second floor, looking out onto the large pool, was fairly standard,... more

We had a 5 day honeymoon in Mexico and spent the first 2 nights at Casa Hamaca. It was a wonderful, bed and breakfast in a remodeled colonial style home. The entire house is artistically decorated and illustrates the handicrafts found in Mexico. All the rooms have hammocks in them, and this was such a wonderful idea, it really added... more

Our two-night stay at the Casa Hamaca in Valladolid was exceptional and certainly the highlight of our stay in Mexico. Our main reason for staying in Valladolid was originally simply to be closer to Chichen Itza so that we could visit first thing in the morning before the crowds came in from the coast. This was the best decision that... more

Four of us spent one night at Maria de la luz while touring ruins in the Valladolid area. This is a lovely hotel and it was perfect for our needs. The hotel is located in the middle of town, which is nicely placed for a quick walking tour of the area. To the right as you step out of the... more

During a recent stay at this hotel we were blessed with an opportunity to experience hospitality unlike what is normally encountered in Western culture. On the second evening here the sky opened up with a torrential downpour of biblical proportions. Hunkering down and waiting for locust seemed like the only option as we were quite literally trapped. The roads were... more

The food and service were fantastic. Guacamole made fresh, right at the table. Sangria, authentic and yum. Shrimp diablo was the best I have ever tasted and I eat a lot of shrimp! Best of all were the waitstaff, they work very hard for their money and made our dining memerable. I would recommend this place all day. If poverty... more
