Nayland Rock Hotel

Booked as one of a large party for the kite festival. A good lick of paint has obviously gone into the reception and dining areas as the new owners attempt to make up for the recent history of the building. The room was suprisingly large for a single and the bed was comfy. Other furniture in the room was beyond... more

This B&B is really awful - as is the whole of Margate. My boyfriend and I went for a weekend away and had a 'suite' with a sea view with so much furniture stuffed into it, you could barely walk around the room. The fridge absolutely stank and there was filthy dust on top of the fridge, which made me... more

We visited this restaurant on a busy Saturday night. Despite being very busy, the level of customer service was excellent. The first thing that strikes you is that this is no ordinary restaurant. The menu was diverse with a clear description of each dish explaining their origins. The food we chose could only be described as exceptionally delicious. The presentation... more

Have eaten here several times and have to say that it is the best restaurant in Thanet and probably one of the best I have experienced in Kent. It’s also probably the only real fine dining experience to be had in Thanet. The staff are friendly and helpful, serving a complimentary glass of fizz and a pre-starter nibble upon arrival.... more

I've walked past the place on previous visits to Margate, but kept to my previous fave Indian. This time I had my family and friends from America and elsewhere in Europe visiting for my wedding week and we just stumbled in walking through town. It blew everyone away. The service was spot on including extra surprises such as a free... more

We stayed here on 25/26 july. Had a small problem when we arrived as not enough beds in out room (which wasn't there fault our booking agents) they tried hard to sort out our problem but they had no other family rooms but even offered us 2 rooms. i found the hotel very clean, nice friendly staff hotel was quiet... more

Dirty, run down, noisy, uninhabitable and that's not just Margate..... Take all of the above and times by ten and you've just about got this hell hole. Stayed for one night £55, cheap I know but it is a B&B, it can't be that bad we thought. It can be and it is, pay the extra £30 - £40 and... more

Decided that we would do "bucket and spade" overnighters throughout the summer holidays as we had two kids aged 4 and 8 to entertain. Arrived at Travelodge just after 3 and after a very welcoming check in (speedy too) went to our family room. Really impressed by the cleanliness and when we discovered we needed an extra pillow , staff... more

Clean room and a comfy bed. Staff nice. For the price and in need of two nights to lay our heads, we were more than happy. Hallways narrow and in need of a lick of paint, but we had a nice stay. We would reccommend this to friends, for a short stay. more

Third time I have stayed at this b+b, and like the previous visits have found it to be very pleasant and relaxing. As for the owner I found her to be very kind and helpful. Would recommend. more

My partner and I stayed at the Happy Dolphin for a weekend in late February. I found the place pleasant and the landlady accommodating and helpful. The location is great, near to the train station and a few mins walk to the beach (which is lovely). Would recommend. more

Amazing tastes which pack a punch. Beautifully presented food, and good on the purse strings too. If you are a veggie lover like myself then they have a good selection of dishes. I Also ate the steamed mussels that were on the specials board. They were fab. Defo worth a visit. Great news it has it's own parking but is... more

Amazes me that in 2007 (actually in 2006 and 2005) I can still find a hotel in a developed nation that doesn't have an in-room telephone or even an alarm clock! And it also amazes me that even in the UK I could stay in a room that has a television set that only receives 4 channels. (The good news... more

Booked online for 26 pounds! Very new, still had the new smell to the hotel. Hotel had a modular feel to it but the size of the room and cleanliness won us over. Toby Carvery and many shops nearby. Why pay top money when all you need is a clean bed? more

Booked and paid by an event organiser on our behalf. Extremely difficult parking, not comfortable with leaving things in the car in that area, so a lot of carrying required. Check-in at reception was excellent. The corridors are a little pokey, as was the room - I'm a single room sufferer! But the room was quiet, just enough to hear... more
