Very convenient located hotel for those who have business in the Baker City area. Very professional and friendly staff looked like this was going to get a great rating from me. I just had stayed at the BW in La Grande where friendly service has never described my many stays there. The grounds are well kept and pretty; but the... more

I agree with stokersam who also wrote a review--well priced, nice people work there, but it needs updating. We stayed at the Geiser Grand a few years ago in the summer and it was pretty nice. We were given the exact same room (coincidentally), on the 3rd (top) floor, this past week. We were there on business this time. We... more

Ignore the front door which is a bit shabby and walk into the completely renovated hotel with crystal chandeliers, a stained glass ceiling and mahogany everywhere...and this is just the lobby. Our room was very large with two queen beds and a huge bathroom. The dining room was pleasant and welcoming and served fine food. more

We often book Best Westerns because they are pet friendly. This one had a modern clean and comfortable room at a reasonable rate. Different story in their Sonny's Grill restaurant where we had dinner. My wife's southwestern grilled sandwich was OK, but my prime rib wasn't. The vegetables were mush, the mashed potatoes had been sitting out long enough to... more

Used a coupon from one of those discount books found a travel centers. Arrived 9 pm on a Friday night and was greeted by a friendly lady who checked us in. S51.00 a night and room was very clean for a older motel. We had breakfast at the Oregon Trail restaurant, complete large breakfast $14.95 with coffee for 2 people.... more

Recently stayed in Baker City for the first time. Friendliest motel and town I have ever been to. The motel was very reasonable. Very short walk to the historic downtown area. The accomodations were clean and in good condition. They have a free full breakfast at the adjacent restaurant that is outstanding. Best value I have ever seen. more

made a reservation 2 months in advance asked for a top floor away from street noise- upon arrival - given a second floor room on main street- took the room anyway - the street noise was loud - asked for a differnt room - was told all the top floor rooms were taken and that the street noise was minimal... more

After a long day on the road we stumbled onto the Oregon Trail Motel. It is nondescript from the outside but we were pleased to find a very friendly staff, clean rooms, ample amenities, and a great price. This is not resort five-star accommodations but if you are looking for a great place to stay for about $50 this cannot... more

An Excellent stay! After reading some of the reviews I was concerned about my reservation. Upon arrival I was greeted with a warm friendly smile from the desk clerk. We found our room to be clean and well appointed. Those who like historic properties will love this place. We tried the bar and were pleased with the staff and the... more

We did have a very pleasant stay at the Geiser Grand, we were there for 5 nights. The hotel was refurbished in 1997 and in places especially the rooms, looks like it needs to be done again. However, they are very spacious and comfortable also very quiet (until you put on the air con which is noisy). There were no... more

If you don't like maid service coming into your room at 8:30 am, can't sit outside on your balcony because the staff is smoking outside your room, or can't open your door because of the lawn mower or leaf blower being used below your room, then you probably don't want to stay here. Oh, I forgot to mention the cleaning... more

This is a good place to stay for the budget minded. I got a good rate and they offer AAA discount. The manager was nice. The room was clean with microwave/refrig and the A/C worked. They served a nice Free Breakfast with donuts, fruit, cereal and milk, juice. It is a way off from the I-84, but clearly marked with... more

We stayed at the Geiser Grand for our 28th anniversary, and enjoyed it very much. Fast and friendly check in, very effiicient and helpful. We stayed in the very spacious Parlor Suite, which is lovely, even though worn around the edges. Dinner was nice, quite acceptable food. The Plateau restaurant at Wildhorse Casino in Pendleton is fabulous; the Geiser's restaurant... more

What a great discovery! Honest real food, prepared exactly as we ordered, and served with warmth. We felt comfortable, welcome and cared for during all the meals we enjoyed (we stayed overnight in the Hotel in which the restaurant is housed). The highlight for me was the ribeye steak. I thought it was better than Mortons, Ruths Chris, and at... more

I had found this place on the internet, but it was also the #1 referral by our motel. It was all around outstanding and we can be picky. Fast seating (Saturday night, 5pm), fast service, very friendly, my hubby had the beer sampler and liked them all. I love hard cider which they also served (tho' they don't make it).... more

This was the cheapest/good ratings for a quick stay (road trip), so us and the kids pulled in late at night and found the staff friendly, likewise the next morning. The room was just... bleh. I don't know, old and run-downish. It also smelled like that, but my wife was gagging (some weird smell permanently emanating from the bathroom -... more

Hotel would not allow me to cancel reservation, stating that I had not submitted my request via email. I complained and they not only gave away my room, they also refused to refund my money. Asked for manager/owner names but they refused to offer any. Kept getting referred to 'office' personnel but not once was anyone in the office. Left... more

The room was clean and large and basic. Alexis at the front desk did her job somewhat begrudgingly but effectively. Both the ice machine and vending machine were out of order. The smell of chlorine does permeate the halls. The beds were comfortable and the pillows were ok. We would probably not stay here again. more
