My family and I visited Rum Point on Wednesday (7/9/08). Worth a visit but there are far better places to see on the island. Nice atmosphere as long as it involves spending money. The bathrooms were gross, dirty and 2 of the 4 toilets were working. I was happy the outside showers were available after swimming. Don't bother snorkeling, not... more

While on vacation in Grand Cayman, I took a drive to Rum Point. Like other visitors to Grand Cayman, probably including you, who are reading this review, I had seen the amazing photos of the clear water, hammocks and long, inviting dock. Rum Point indeed looked wonderful. But when my girlfriend and I got there - What a disappointment. It... more

My boyfriend and I were visiting my great-uncle in Grand Cayman last week. He took us to Rum Point this past Saturday. I had been previously when I was 14 - it was so nice to go back. My boyfriend had never been there. It was quiet, plenty of *free* lounge chairs were available on the beach. As we both... more

Went to Rum Point for a day on a recent (March 2008) visit to Grand Cayman. It is about a 45 minute drive from 7 mile beach. Although it was very busy when we were there (there were 7 cruise ships in port) it did not really seem crowded. There was plenty of beach to go around. The water is... more

We rented a condo just east of Rum Point, about a 5 minute drive. We were ecstatic about the beach there. Beach chairs, clean restrooms, showers, wonderful snorkeling, food service were all such a wonderful surprise, and there weren't any fees to pay! There were some boats coming in and out that might have been a little scarey for us... more

if you want to find the best beach ask the locals, i have been to Cayman Islands several times, then the first few times i took the Ferry across from the Hyatt Hotel along the 7 Mile beach, but not been on it since Hurricane Ivan so check to see if it is still running as that hurricane had a... more

Rum Point is a great spot to spend a lazy day at the beach - with all amenities (food, drinks, alcoholic drinks, hair braiding, washrooms, showers). Lounge chairs are provided on the beach for visitors. There are rentals for beach sports - which we did not use, but they are available. A gift store is also on site for souvenirs.... more

We spent a week on Grand Cayman in March 07. Since this was our first trip to GC, we had assumed that, like a lot of other beach locations in March, 7-Mile beach would be overrun with spring break college kids or families with school children, both of which we were hoping to avoid. For that reason, we rented a... more

Right now you can only get to Rum Point by car or taxi.....the boat from Seven Mile Beach has stopped. This means it is nice and quiet and not affected by the mad crowds from the cruise ships. It takes about 45 minutes to drive from Seven mile beach and is well worth it. There are picnic tables and free... more

Rum Point is a beautiful, family-friendly spot to spend the day. It is a 45 minute plus drive from Seven Mile Beach with a casual restaurant and clean restrooms. The views are gorgeous and the water is warm clear and wonderful! more
