Two weeks after leaving Salt Cay, even though my tan is fading, my relaxed, happy glow is not. Living in Africa means that life is never easy, yet I am laughing instead of growling at the hardships. My staff wonder what has happened to me…and like it! I call it the "Salt Cay Effect"... Andrew and I agree this was... more

Salt Cay is a real mixture, and this review reflects my ambivalent feelings about it after our first stay of 1 week. First, the good: the water is clear and blue, all the islanders friendly and welcoming. You don't come to Salt Cay to visit a resort, you become a temporary member of the community. The sun shone but it... more

My family and I traveled to Salt Cay in August 2007. My husband has long been a workaholic and he was the MOST relaxed he's ever been! His cell phone was finally not glued to his ear (he had no service, but I did)!!! We have twin boys (9 years old) and they had the most fabulous time of their... more

My wife, my father-in-law and I recently returned from a trip to Salt Cay. While I have been traveling to Grand Turk for many years I had only been to Salt Cay once and that was as a kid. What a wonderful place. The people were some of the friendliest I have ever encountered from the multi-generational locals to the... more

SALT CAY SUNSET VILLAS BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We rented Villa #2 from Dierin Longmire and what a rip off. The air conditioner does not work and hasn't for some time (there are crabs and lizards living in it).The screens do not fit the sliding glass doors, ants are in the bed and the window to the kitchen falls out. There was a... more

Salt Cay, what a wonderful adventure! I just returned from Salt Cay for my third time. We brought a group of our friends and they loved it. Everyone of them said they would return again. It just keeps getting better and better. I was actually shocked by the trip advisor of July 22nd from New Jersey. We have consistently found... more

I have mixed feelings about writing a negative review about anything. However, I use Trip Advisor often and I have dodged some bullets in the past based on the frank information that I have found on the site. So here goes... First of all all the flights going here are very sketchy at best. Several people were actually stranded going... more

Some helpful information from a discerning corporate group travel planner.... - We flew into Grand Turk on Spirit Airlines from Ft. Lauderdale, however, arrived on a Sunday (we chose the day although not the best for travel to Salt Cay). There is no ferry or flight over on Sundays and were hoping to have Salt Cay Divers send a boat... more

We spent 8 days in Salt Cay in Feb.2004. We went for a chance to snorkel with the whales. On two separate whale watches,we saw lots of whales, but missed them while snorkeling. We did go on a stingray snorkel, which the kids loved. This is a very low key island with very friendly people. We stayed in a fun house... more

I have recently spent my most wonderful vacation--nine incredible days on the isle of Salt Cay, where my wife and I encountered people of out of the ordinary. There is only one place I would stay away from--The Windmills. My wife and I were riding bikes on a slow curving road and came across this place. They at this point... more
