Great place for families, history buffs, or just to walk around. The price is a little higher than I would've liked but it is a federal site, the government doesn't give much funding and staffing is expensive these days. The buildings were interesting, very accurate. The staff was friendly and helpful and really new what they were talking about (even... more

Just the drive from Niagara Falls through the immediate area was a treat. Fort George was a British fort from the War of 1812 and stands across, and somewhat downriver, from Fort Niagara (on the American side). The fort saw several battles and was taken by the Americans in 1813, before being recaptured 8 months later. There are a number... more

My fiance and I visited this site during a recent trip to NOTL. Our entire trip was FANTASTIC (really...everything!) except for our decision to visit Ft. George. It cost $23 for admission for both of us and we were handed a map and brochure for a self guided tour. It wasn't until were inside the fort that we realized nothing... more

The admission is average and conveniently located near Niagara-on-the-lake. I'm not sure why you need to pay for parking in the lot with a machine--inconvenient. Inside the fort, there are park attendants in period clothing. There was a musket firing demonstration. There was a presentation by an actress in period costume talking about the occupations of the fort. (Very biased... more

We took our children to Fort George in Niagara on the lake. When we where planning our trip to Niagara Falls we didn't even consider this attraction for the kids. Much to our surprise our boys just loved it!!! And it is also much cheaper then alot of the regular Niagara Falls attractions. more

My family really enjoyed seeing the fort and reading and hearing about it's history. My 9 year old is a history buff and really got into the experience. I have some priceless pictures of him on the cannon, with the soldiers, viewing the wagons, etc. more

This is one of those attractions, where people who really dig history and reenactments would enjoy. Its a great place to walk around, take pictures and enjoy the weather. If you are looking for some action and adventure, this probably will be a disappointment. The soldiers of the Fort were the best part, there was a flag raising ceremony and... more

The only thing I can mention is that the Fort looked pretty cool.. What was unfortunate about the Fort was that the people who portrait the soldier were ON STRIKE.... something about Canada leaving the bargaining table. We could go through the Fort and take pictures but that was it. It was very dissapointing. I was really looking forward to... more
