My family went on the National Trust tour inside Paul McCartney's 20 Forthlin Road and John Lennon's Mendips homes. It was one of the highlights of our European vacation. I recently visited the childhood homes of John Lennon and Paul McCartney. All I can say is thank you to the National Trust for opening these houses to the public. Paul's house has been re-stored to how it was when Paul actually lived there and as a fan it just feels amazing to stand inside, I could've stayed all day.... more

I visited 20 Forthlin Road (which is combined with Mendips, John Lennon's childhood home) last year and had a great time. Departure (in a minivan) is from Speke Hall, which is quite far outside the centre of Liverpool so I had to take a cab to get there, but it was worth it. Speke Hall itself is worth a visit... more
