We loved the Louvre. It opened at 9.00am and we were there at ten to nine. By then there was already about a 100m queue, but we expected that. They opened the doors at exactly 9am and within a couple of minutes we were in! We headed straight for the Mona Lisa, before the crowds arrived. Then we strolled around... more

Louvre is probably the most important and famous museum on Earth. It's so big that I recommend everybody to spend 3 hours there in two different days, because if you're really a big fan of art, and won't stay long in Paris, you're gonna spend a whole afternoon in the museum to see everything in just one day. Delacroix's paintings... more

Took the 3:45 English speaking tour on a Wednesday, when the Louvre is open late. The museum was very crowded all day, but when the tour reached the Mona Lisa at around 5PM ,we walked right to the front of the line in less than 3 minutes. Even the tour guide was surprised how ez that was. She then gave... more

I am not an art lover, but I have to say I did enjoy the Louvre. Before you go inside, drink all drinks because they will take them from you and bring a smaller type of bag, just in case the staff thinks its too big and then you have to put it in a room that is unattended. I... more

If you are pressed for time, take a tour. But if you have dedicated an entire day to checking out the Louvre, grab a map and walk. There are so many appealing pieces of art and sculpture, even something "non-famous" will capture your attention (I personally liked the Greek and Roman myth paintings scattered throughout the museum from different time... more

I read the reviews on here and took advice given of buying a ticket in advance and getting to the museum for 8:30am at the Carrousel entrance. Opened at 9am and skipped the ticket queue, grabbed a map and quickly found the room for th eMona Lisa. Took the lift upstairs and we were first into the room where the... more

You probably already know the Louvre is huge, you can spend all day in just one wing. If you're time is limited, or even if it's not, I suggest the 90 minute English Louvre Tour. It was great. You see all the highlights, Mona Lisa, Venus D'Milo, etc. and learn a little about the history of the museum. The english... more

This is a review of someone who wanted to see The Louvre but did not want to spend a day. I admit to being completely un educated in most of the wonderful artefacts, objets d'art and paintings but I did want to see The Mona Lisa and Aphrodite. We went late in the day (6pm) and our entrance fee was... more

We went to the Louvre for the first time in March. I had planned to stay a couple of hours thinking we could see alot, very wrong! We got our map on arrival and headed for the Mona Lisa and a few other main exhibits. The museum is very very big with long galleries, lots of different levels and rooms,... more
