Excellent way to spend a day. Zoo is well laid out on level ground, with mature gardens and plenty of amenities for visitors, including play and eating areas, for weary adults to catch their breath! This zoo is fabulous! The enclosures are not cages. You are separated from the animals by steep ditches which they cannot get over but you can get a perfect view of them. I love to visit zoos when traveling and have seen many in my day. We went to the zoo yesterday while visiting Berlin for a four day stay. I am a ZOO person, and I found the lay out of this zoo and the size to be perfect for a morning tourist diversion! The zoo is one of the Hubs of the public transportation and so very convenient to get too. It is a perfect size for a city zoo, well kept and great place for a stroll.... more
