Everyone we talked to about our upcoming trip to Rome, advised us to get a tour guide for the Vatican. One person highly recommended Grant. We were not disappointed. Grant was very well informed on the Vatican. He told us many facts and pointed out many features that we would not have known about. He did so in a very... more

I was reading through some of the previous reviews and was surprised that people had to queue to get in?? My other half and I went in April around 3-4pm, and there was absolutely no queues whatsoever! The time we saved we were able to spend inside and just gawk at the beauty! In fact we thought we did something... more

The Vatican is a must see if you are in Italy! I was there un July 2008. We did the tour through My Vatican Tour group and I highly recommend them. You book in advance and then get to skip the LONG LONG lines once you are there. The tour is worthwhile and interesting. St. Peter's Basilica is amazing!!! more

Through Eternity was our choice of tour agency, and we were not disappointed. Small group (14), well working headsets, very knowledgeable guide about keeping us all together in the vast crowds, art history and general history about the Vatican, Popes and Italy. She livened the tour with historical antidotes and also spent extra time with the group; an altogether gracious... more

It's wasn't cheap, but you can't leave Roma without seeing the Sistine Chapel (but only take pictures if you're ready to be yelled at. Like us.) The design of many of the rooms, halls, and ceilings is just over the top with incredibly loud designs and an absurd melange of designs. It was glorious in it's tackiness. That's the only... more

The Vatican is an absolute must if in Rome, I’m not a religious person but it still blew me away. I recommend that you join a tour as the lines to get in stretch for miles. There is a separate line for tours and they get in before the general public. We went through viatour agency and they were very... more

We spent a day at the Vatican in mid January 2008. We originally had hired a tour guide (Angel Tours), but when they changed the tour time at the last minute from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm, we decided to go it alone. (We didn't want to start our day at the Vatican that late.) We are glad we visited... more

My husband and I recently spent our first wedding anniversary in Rome. I had been to the Vatican before many years ago but had been determined to do it on my own and not to be a "tourist" take a tour. This time however as a anniversary present my parents booked us a private guide through isango. Having a guide,... more

If you love art, religion, and history, this is the place for you. You could spend a year there and not cover it all. I am not one for tours but at the Vatican it is a MUST. It will cost depending on your negoitiating skills between 25 and 40 Euros each. You can set up with a Guide in... more
