What an amazing house-museum this is. The interior is perfectly and lovingly restored. The design of the house is absolutely divine. I felt as if the owners would be returning any minute. Very difficult to get to, the tourist information is worse than useless as was my guide book- eyewitness.. I went on the tram to 'Horta' stop from the centre, a miracle in itself as the underground / tram system provided very little information, no hand outs of the system, which is daunting, but only 4 euro for 1 day pass,... more

The museum is most enjoyed with the assistance of a formal tour. I happened to walk in at the right time and learned much about the details of this building. Details being critical. The mistake I made was not bringing my map, but I discovered more of the neighborhood than if I took a direct route. Enjoy. Visit other Horta... more

If you enjoy Art Nouveau furnishings and architecture, then the Horta Museum is a must-see. Formerly the designer's home and office, it is one of the few remaining examples of this style where visitors are welcome to enter. The neighborhood is sadly rundown but still seems safe. more
