It is forbidden to take off photographs of the palace inside. Therefore the photos are only outdoor. Wonderful place. more

A friend of ours had traveled to Lisbon and told us to take a day-trip to Sintra, while we were in Lisbon for 6 days. I highly recommend buying the sight-seeing pass for 3.50 euro. This will take you to all the tourist spots with in Sintra. I walked from the town center to the palace and it took about 1 hour, but I am young and in relatively good shape. However, when I got there I took the trolley to the palace and back... more

The road up there is surprisingly beautiful through lush and mountaneous areas - have your camera ready ! Take a bus from the Sintra train station; walking will take a very long time.
