We visited Tivoli on our last night in Copenhagen last September. There were a great choice of restuarants for dinner and entertainment afterwards, including souvenir shops. Really enjoyed the whole Christmas experience in Tivoli. At night the whole park is bathed in Christmas lights and it takes on a wonderful atmosphere. The positives: My wife, who loves rides of all kinds, got about 2 hours of moderate amusement from riding the handful of thrill rides at the park. Tivoli was quite disappointing. You pay one fee just to enter (there are some free concerts). Lots of restaurants that get quite crowded in the evening, and are expensive. Some rides for those who are interested in that, but even that isn't too extensive compared to modern amusement parks. Rides each cost additional. I visited the Tivoli Gardens as part of a tour I was on. We were given a ticket that got us in but, the ticket didn't cover the cost of any rides or dinner. I traveled to Copenhagen just to see the famed Tivoli Gardens. I was surprised to find a very small, run downed amusement park, with overpriced food and a weak attempt to duplicate the normal US amusement park. What is the big deal! It is nothing special at all. Fellow travelers be warned. more
