I didn't have time to see the castle or crown jewels, but if you are passing by the grounds are open to the public and quite nice to walk around. They function as a city park, with many people relaxing. more

This wasn't on the list to see, but the view of the garden from the Roundtower drew us in and glad it did! First the gardens. The lane of trees is wonderful. We visited the Rosenborg Castle to see the crown jewels. No bags are allowed inside. There are lockers for use when you buy your tickets in the building near the gate. You can also buy a guide book here. It might be a good idea since there are no audio guides and the written descriptions are only in Danish. Pictures... more

My husband and I visited Rosenborg Castle mid-day in June 2006. Rosenborg was wonderful, if a little chilly. The crown jewels are kept in the treasury here and they are lovely. The ivory carvings are extremely intricate. The castle itself it very different to castles in the UK, there is a room with mirrored walls and ceiling, another room highly decorated with glass... it was very good to look around, though... more

This place is well done, just like everything else the Danes do, and a great value! It's a beautiful, very interesting castle in the middle of town.
