You can take the ferry here or walk. The ferry ticket is very expensive, but good for whole day and useful if you also wish to see Skansen and modern art museum (don't). Otherwise, the walk is really not a bad one and if you arrive before 10 AM at the ferry, you will have to wait for the first... more

Fantastic to see. Go on a guided tour because you will learn much more than doing it by yourself. Brochures available in English. Engineering and historic details in the movie are also enlightening. We recommend seeing everything. more

I went to this museum to indulge my husband who is a fan of ships and I was very pleasantly surprised by how much fun I had. When you first walk in, what hits you is the size of the ship. It seems like it's just a huge space with the ship in, but in fact there is loads of... more

If there is one museum in Stockholm you visit, this must be the one. The ship is incredible. They present it and its artifacts in a very impressive way. When you enter the museum, you see a striking view of the bow. The entire ship is contained in tack within the multi-story room. Around it are displays describing how it... more

Now although I take-in museums and attractions when visiting cities I'm not exactly a museum-person as such. However this is the most interesting one I've ever been to. The ship itself is an amazing site and the story behind it fascinating. Loads of work has gone into the archaelogical restoration of the ship during the 1960s, with the result that... more

Nearly everything about this museum feels new, fresh and very well-done. The ship itself is simply incredible and worth the price of admission just for a look, with easy-to-understand supporting exhibits that can entertain you for hours. The included main movie was less-than-stellar, the included tour a little brief, but overall, this museum was one of the highlights of Stockholm,... more

When I consider, that the Vasa ship sank after sailing only a mile and was practically functionless, it is amazing how much effort was put into her salvation. Time has proved, that this decision was right - Vasa ship is now a pride of Stockholm. Ironically, Vasa was an embarrassing technical failure as a ship, but today it is a... more

This is a fascinating museum. The star of the museum is the incredibly intact Wasa warship. The ship is the only intact 17th century warship in the world. Ironically, the reason it was saved was because it sank on its maiden voyage. The mud in Stockholm harbor and the cold waters which discouraged wood boring worms helped preserve the Wasa.... more
