Easily accessible by CityRail train from Central (Sydney) on the Gosford. Newcastle line to Hawkesbury River, the Riverboat Postman is a great half-day outing. If arriving by train, the wharf is 50 metres from the railway station but there are many steps to the pedestrian bridge over the Sydney-bound rail track. The pace on the boat is relaxed. I always take my visitng friends and relatives on the Riverboat Postman. It leaves from Brooklyn and travels around the Hawkesbury river delivering mail and goods to the riverside communities.
