This was my favorite of all the memorials. It is beautiful, well created, and emotional. The quotes, imagery, location, and overall atmosphere are perfect and evoke a lot of emotions. This is definitely a must see. more

Very impressive monument in DC. Located closeby to the Washignton Mounment at the start of the Reflecting Pool. The columns featuring all the states present during the time of WWII. Take note of the wall with all the stars (each representing 1000 soldiers that died during the war). more

It seems silly to praise this memorial as if someone would pan it. However, many go to D.C. intent on only seeing a handful of items and some worthy monuments get left out. Stunning Memorial. Have visited it a few times since it opened but recently visited in December, 2006 on a Wednesday afternoon. There was no one around so great for picture taking. Stunning memorial with all the water, fountains and dedications. Great location in between the Washington Monument and Lincoln Memorial. A must see. more

We visited the memorial at night after arriving in Washington, DC. and I was very impressed. The fountains and lights were beautiful. We passed by again during the day, but I would definitely recommend visiting this site at night if possible. more

If you want to beat the summer heat in DC, see this monument at sunset. Beautiful detail and a moving memorial. You'll find that the fountains will be drained around the 4th of July to keep debris from the fireworks out of the system. These pictures were taken July 5th 2004.
