I actually went here twice. The reason: I deleted the first set of pictures on my memory card by accident. At first, I was upset, but after going back, I was glad I did. I saw things I missed the first time, I had better photos and - I went EARLIER! I beat the rush of all the Japanese tourists... more

For a Brit it is as if you were allowed to walk round Buckingham Palace and Westminster Abbey on a single campus. The buildings are beautifully ornate, covered in gold, brightly decorated and painted and there are numerous statues with Buddhist connotations. It is certainly worth a visit and the impressive architecture will score highly with some people. What you... more

As an effort to save our wallet from burning deeper, we decided to spend half a day at the Grand Palace, where the King of Thailand used to live and also home to one of the famous Buddha statue in Bangkok, the Emerald Buddha. We only spend 300BHT for the entrance ticket and we spent almost 3 hours inside. This... more

My family of 4 ( incl 2 children11 and 8) visted the grand palace as part of a tour during our recent holiday to bangkok. We did our tour with Tour east and our tour guide was very knowledgeable and provided a great insight to the palace. It was a very busy and interesting place to visit and i think... more

My boyf and I walked to the Grand Palace from our hotel (Royal Bangkok Hotel) which took approx. 15minutes. We didn't experience the scam artists that we had been warned about like some people have. We got there at 9.30am and there were quite a lot of people there already, but we managed to get our tickets quickly. There is... more

A couple tips if you go to the Grand Palace. 1) Beware of people telling you that it's closed - it's a scam. See the other review about this. The palace is open every day of the week - all day and to everyone. 2) you can where shorts or skirts there. However, once inside you will need to cover.... more

Just a note to alert anybody planning to visit the Grand Palace and see the Emerald Buddha, along with the other fabulous sights here. There are scam artists working around the walls of the palace grounds - and these walls are almost 1/2 mile long on each side, who will stop an obvious foreigner to tell you that the palace... more
