The temple is built into the rock, and has three levels for worship for the sun god. It also had a room dedicated to Anubis, the funerary god. This is a hugely impressive Temple, with grand steps that bring you into the temple, which stands on several leaves. By far the best way to arrive at Hatshepsut is walking from the Valley of the Kings over the mountain pass. Few people know of and use the trail. This is an absolutly amazing place, it quite a walk from the entrance to the top, but a tram will take you nearer. You walk up two flights of steps but when you reach the top it is an absolutly stunning view. The heroglifics (excuse the spelling) are fantastic, and the queens life story is brill.
