Disappointed with Ramses II tomb. It was steep, hot and not worth the trek. However KV14 was EXCELLENT! By far the best preserved that I was able to see. They only let you see 3 tombs per ticket but if you shuffle in with a crowd and hold your ticket with a thumb covering one punch you can sometimes slip... more

When you enter the barren valley on the Westbank of the Nile called Valley of the Kings, you should look straight ahead. Luxor, including the Valley of the Kings and the two main temples- Luxor and Karnak, are as absolutely important must-see sites as important to visit as the Pyramids of Giza. I was fortunate enough to visit this past March/April and see the new tomb, KV63. It was incredible to be able to visit the first tomb discovered since Tut. I was most excited about it. My wife and I walked along the West Valley to see Ay's tomb. It was an unforgettable experience as we left all the tourist bustle behind.
