Beihai Park is very close to the Forbidden City and the attractions around Tiananmen Square. It can get crowded (especially in nice weather), but it somehow maintains a calmness and sense of refuge from being in such a big city. The lake around which the park is centered is beautiful, and the Jade Isle and White Dagoba are definitely key... more
