This is a must-see attraction in Singapore. It is nothing more than a statue at the end of the river but the views of the city and river from the observation platform next to the statue are very good. It is also the icon of Singapore so you can't really say you've seen the city without seeing the famous Merlion... more

The Merlion is a major symbol for Singapore. Merlion Park protrudes into the river giving a good view of the area, plus the picture of the Merlion itself. The observation deck on top gives nice views of the city and the port. OK the little history film they show is hokey, and the exhibit on sea monsters is just silly, and they keep playing an annoying song, but what counts is the views, and on a nice day it is worth it.
