Don't waste your money ($25 each) on the Ghost Ranch's Georgia O'Keeffe Landscape Tour. My husband and I were disappointed and really put off by this tour led by a retired Presbyterian minister. He knew nothing about O'Keeffe, her art and its place in the tradition, or art in general. His spiel was ignorant and judgmental. He had decided that... more

I came here for a week long course, and luckily booked my own room, thank heavens. A lot of people on my course had to share a bathroom with four others--and the rooms were similar to college style dorms, quite small. It was not the best valued accommodation for the price and was not sure that it had had a... more

yes, this place is the pits in regards to lodging and food, but it is worth it for the surrounding natural beauty. As far as the food goes, I look at this place as a "fat farm" - great place to lose a few pounds. the kids can run wild and they are safe, that alone is worth the price... more

I feel sorry for the people that have written reviews saying "there is nothing to do or see in the area aside from the Ghost Ranch" or were mad about the Ghost Ranch accommodations. I love this part of New Mexico. We go there every time we are in New Mexico. To me it is one of the most beautiful... more

I've seen many tours of O'Keeffe country written in books and online but don't expect there to be too much going on in this beloved location of the great artist. I spent a month here with a college course staying in the casitas near the back of the property and got to know the grounds of Ghost Ranch very well.... more

We decided to take a day trip from Santa Fe to O'Keefe country up in Abiquiu. It's a nice drive but don't expect too much to do! We got some great pictures of the red rock formations and Abiquiu Lake and then walked around the grounds of Ghost Ranch. It's nice to see where O'Keefe lived and worked but there... more

The landscape is interesting, beautiful and, in some places, spectacular. Knowing this is Georgia O'Keefe country made the promise of staying at the Ghost Ranch special. Turns out the place is a dump. Dirty, dusty. Nonchalant cleaning efforts at best. I had to make and strip my own bed. Not difficult but a nuisance and an irritant in my 10'... more

Supposedly we were offered a "group rate" for $97/ per person. Turns out the rooms let for $90 for the first person, $40 for the second, and $10 for each thereafter. The director told us we would have gotten the list price if we booked "separately." I can't believe this Presbyterian organization would be involved in such deceptive (criminal?) behavior.... more

Ghost Ranch is located in the central portion of the Chama River Valley, which punctuates and often dominates this land of mountains and mesas with life-giving water and its rich expression and variety of plant and animal life. Expect intensely colored landscapes, awesome contrasts of dry desert and moist cool forests, towering canyons, open grasslands and evidence of a long... more

Ghost Ranch is approximately 12 miles north of Abiquiu, NM, on highway 84. If you want to see the landscapes and sights made famous by Georgia O'Keeffe, this is a must. A 21,000 acre conference center of the Presbyterian Church, USA, Ghost Ranch welcomes thousands of visitors from the community and from around the world. In addition to the breathtaking... more
