This was the first of four tiger parks we visited in India this year. The park mgt. seems to put the $$$ and the amount of visitors they can get into the park everyday priority over the needs of nature itself. We went to Rathambore with our 7 year old and our 2 year old. The Pugmark hotel is very basic but very nice. The staff are very knowledgable and gracious. We stayed in one of their tents. It was quite cold at night but they have electrical heaters. I would say that it is a bit tough for young ones.... more

This is an amazing place with great scenery. There are a range of Safari vehicles from Jeeps through to something that look like large open top bus. The Jeeps are much more comfortable. The terrain is steep, rough, stony and (in March) very dusty. There are numerous roads through the Park, so the vehicles all head off on their own... more

It's wonderful to see the tiger habitat and the rich variety of animals and birds--even if you don't catch a glimpse of a tiger.
