To be sure the museum is an enormous treasure trove of cannon, vehicles, uniforms, ancient guns, dioramas and such - but it is also reads like a history book of Russia and is part of the integral culture of Petersburg, which historically, was always a military town. For a military history buff, this museum is a must-see. The outdoor vehicle collection is on par with that at Aberdeen Proving Ground, and the indoor exhibits far surpasses that US museum.
